3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 7,4%. Dark brown body, medium tan head. Aroma has roasted malt and medium hoppiness. A bit watery body for an Imperial Stout (does it even qualify for the style with only 7,4% ABV?). Taste has tarry roast and some coffee astringency. More tar in the finish. Not a very good balance IMHO. I think this kind of bitterness requires some more viscosity in the body.

Bottle bb 12/11/15. Pours a dark brown with a chunky off white head. Some grassy, leafy dankness in the aroma - a little dark fruit too, a minute in and more milk choc aromas are noticeable with just a hint of booze and a bit of coffee appearing. Nice. Medium body, medium carbonation. Very full and foamy in the mouth, not massively sticky or rich. Theres a resiny woodiness, liquorice, some milk choc and bitter espresso, soy, a bit of treacle, citrus on the bitter finish. Plenty going on, not amazing, but its tasty.

A kinda smoky, but dry and dusty, stout. Not bad, but not super exciting either.

Black color with ruby reflections. Nice beige head, lacing glass. Delicate, little intense aroma. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, a bit smoked, smoke. Dry taste, strong roasted, bitter, slightly sour from the malts, light smoked and bitter chocolate. Medium carbonation, medium body with thick texture. Drinkable and warming, lighter representative of Imperial Stout’s.

Color caoba oscuro, casi negro con espuma color crema. Aromas de café y tostados, ligeramente afrutada y algo ahumada. En boca tiene densidad media, pasa bien y deja un sabor de café amargo y seco, algo plano. Bien.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the Dram Shop, Sheffield. Quite a pale body for a stout - deep mahogany with a rocky tan head. Plenty of hop notes in the mix with the roasty malt flavours of chocolate and liquorish. There are pine notes from the hops and something smokey too. A nice easy drinking beer, though not a luxorious as some imperial stouts.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Dark, heavy chocolate dominates the aroma; also noticeable some hops. Black colour, nice brown head. Medium bitterness. I like that the beer is not sweet, not cloying, without ash feeling, really smooth in mouth. Very good one.
