3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle for £3.49 from Peckhams (Glasgow,):
Roasted malts and a sweet, burnt sugar aroma along with some coffee and chocolate. It also seems to have some darker fruits lingering in the background and overall it is a pleasant aroma that could have used being a little stronger.
Mahogany brown colour with a few red tinges in there and a huge, three fingers tall head that is a thick looking, foamy, light brown with great retention.
A strong roasted malt presence initially but what follows is a lot sweeter than I was expecting, there is a touch of coffee along with some chocolate and sugar. The dark fruits from the nose are in the taste as well and there is some licorice complimented by some caramel; a very sweet and hoppy tasting imperial stout.
Lighter than usual for the style, falling somewhere around medium bodied with mild to medium carbonation levels. There is also more sweetness to it than your usual imperial stout.
Lighter in many ways than what I was expecting, the aroma was quite subdued but not exactly weak and the body was a lot lighter too but it was an excellent beer and one that I’d probably have again. The 7.4% alcohol content was very well hidden and goes by pretty much unnoticed.

A kinda smoky, but dry and dusty, stout. Not bad, but not super exciting either.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black color with ruby reflections. Nice beige head, lacing glass. Delicate, little intense aroma. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, a bit smoked, smoke. Dry taste, strong roasted, bitter, slightly sour from the malts, light smoked and bitter chocolate. Medium carbonation, medium body with thick texture. Drinkable and warming, lighter representative of Imperial Stout’s.

Color caoba oscuro, casi negro con espuma color crema. Aromas de café y tostados, ligeramente afrutada y algo ahumada. En boca tiene densidad media, pasa bien y deja un sabor de café amargo y seco, algo plano. Bien.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the Dram Shop, Sheffield. Quite a pale body for a stout - deep mahogany with a rocky tan head. Plenty of hop notes in the mix with the roasty malt flavours of chocolate and liquorish. There are pine notes from the hops and something smokey too. A nice easy drinking beer, though not a luxorious as some imperial stouts.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Dark, heavy chocolate dominates the aroma; also noticeable some hops. Black colour, nice brown head. Medium bitterness. I like that the beer is not sweet, not cloying, without ash feeling, really smooth in mouth. Very good one.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bière brune foncée avec un col de mousse beige. Nez de malts grillés, caramel et café. En bouche, texture liquoreuse, attaque sur le côté caramel et café, finale sur une franche amertume et pamplemousse. Très bon.
