3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle for £3.49 from Peckhams (Glasgow,):
Roasted malts and a sweet, burnt sugar aroma along with some coffee and chocolate. It also seems to have some darker fruits lingering in the background and overall it is a pleasant aroma that could have used being a little stronger.
Mahogany brown colour with a few red tinges in there and a huge, three fingers tall head that is a thick looking, foamy, light brown with great retention.
A strong roasted malt presence initially but what follows is a lot sweeter than I was expecting, there is a touch of coffee along with some chocolate and sugar. The dark fruits from the nose are in the taste as well and there is some licorice complimented by some caramel; a very sweet and hoppy tasting imperial stout.
Lighter than usual for the style, falling somewhere around medium bodied with mild to medium carbonation levels. There is also more sweetness to it than your usual imperial stout.
Lighter in many ways than what I was expecting, the aroma was quite subdued but not exactly weak and the body was a lot lighter too but it was an excellent beer and one that I’d probably have again. The 7.4% alcohol content was very well hidden and goes by pretty much unnoticed.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled, 0.50l. Pours murky, almost black with medium sized creamy light brown head and fair lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, dried fruits and alcohol. Taste starts with smooth and rich roasted malt and coffee, while following is sweet chocolate with alcohol notes. Mouthfeel is spicy and peppery with pretty heavy bitter finish and long aftertaste. Full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Interesting herbal hoppy stout...

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A black beer with a big, dense and beige head. The nose is roasted, coffee, strong milky sourness, some herbs and old lether sole. Not very sophisticated aroma. Taste is strongly roasted, coffee, nice sweetness, some lether and liquirice. The end is quite long, dry and roasted. Medium+ bodied, smooth carbonation, plesant to drink. Quite simple IS, not very exhilarating.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I think this bottle is a year old, I just realized I still had it. Sad. Deep brown witha tan head. Aroma of roast malt, ash. Taste is a nice smoky burnt malt, some creamy caramel, dark fruits. It’s a pretty nice beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep cola-cola color with a tan head. Aroma of roast, ash, and chalk. Taste very roast and dry, with roastiness increasing in mid mouth and palate. Warm after-feeling in stomach is only indication that this is an "imperial" stout and not just a regular dry (or possibly extra dry) stout

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Generalessa dell’interpretazione inglese classica dell’imperial stout, pur senza nessun carattere superlativo.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
huge, lasting, brown head. Leaves a very thin film on top of a black body. Aroma is chocolate, vanila, clove, nots, smoothly smoked; very ellegant and subtle. Mouthfeel is creamy, Co2 is average; alcohol is amazingly integrated. Finish is smoothly bitter. Taste is balanced, strong cocoa, smooth coffee, nuts, black frutis.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with brownish highlights and a large soapy brown head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was malty and toasty with notes of smoke, vanilla and almost bacon. The flavor was roasty and smoky bacon, vanilla, malted milk and had a pervading bitterness. Medium length bitter roasty and smoky finish. Moderately full bodied. Too roasty and smoky for my taste but a solid brew.
