3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Roasted aroma, coffee and chocolate, pours black with rich head, that stays for a while and leaves nice lacing. Taste is again roasted with a bit of fruity aftertaste. A bit of alcohol note. It lacks a bit of depth in taste - itís good, but not what I expect from ris. Medium bitterness, slightly sweet. Rather low carbonation. Solid beer, not the worst ris but not the best either.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Almost black looks with smallish head but lots of lacing. Aroma is roasted, chocolate and there is a lot of fruits in there, almost like black IPA. Taste is fruity and quite bitter. There is also roasted malts but ending with bitterness. Medium+ body and medium carbonation. Slightly black IPAish, but enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Cafe Sara, august 19th 2014. Black body with a tanned head. Roasty aroma with subtle smoke hints, raisins. Taste of coffee, dark chocolate, light hop spicy. Body feels a bit thin, missing a bit stronger finish, still good though and the creamy coffee/choco aftertaste sits well.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very roasty and bitter, seemingly more hop than chocolate. Dark fruit, coffee. Sounds good on paper but didnít seem to all add up.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Disappointed does not even describe this as an experience. Whilst it looks ok in the glass and the initial aroma is of chocolate it gets to a highly hopped and then overall the whole experience is for me sour.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Pothole (Kohtís newly opened bottle shop) in Tallinn (Ä 4,40), July 2014. Pours a very dark brown, near black, with a reddish hue; the massive tan head retains extremely well, good lacing too. Nose... eeem, nose is... well, my nose is inside the friggin foam and I must say itís enjoying the dip. Itís sweet (burnt sugar and caramel); not much chocolate or roastiness to mention. Thereís also a clear clue in the nose that itís gonna be boozy. Taste is caramelly sweet, malty, faintly chocolaty, somewhat tart, and indeed boozy, like dark plums soaked in liqueur. Full body, soft palate, very little carbonation. Finish is boozy, quite unexpectedly so for a mere (khm) 7,4% ABV, and a lot of bitterness (ca 70 IBU maybe?). Which both kind of kill off the otherwise great experience. Itís a rough and tough one.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hmm...I love Thornbridge but not sure this is great. Dark brown and opaque - almost black- with a slight off- white head and good lacing. Get the liquorice and the peat. And the molasses more than the chocolate. Roasted malts could be in there stronger to balance these tastes off.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pleasantly strong taste, roasted but in balance. Some hints of cream and caramel. Easy to drink, didnít have the consistency of old motor oil as previously expected. Would drink again if I would find any!
