This English IPA is named after the second ship that took the original IPA to India. Light copper with a nose of fruit and berries, a gentle maltiness in the mouth and a wonderful citrus, lemon-pith bitterness.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. A clear pale amber colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of caramel, grain, subtle butter, slight wood, grapefruit and orange. Taste of caramel, grain, straw, subtle wood, grapefruit, orange, slight lemon and spicy, earthy hops in background. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A dry, citrus hop bitterness in the finish. Quite a boring IPA to be honest, some citrus bitterness which is nice but overall uninteresting, which is a shame. Still solid though.

On cask at Euston Tap, pours a hazy copper with a small off-white head. Nose brings out English hops, some buttery notes, and biscuity notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with a pretty soft palate and buttery notes. Kind of off the mark, especially for Thornbridge. Not great.

Poured from cask, not sure it was in best condition, and would be better from keg. Rather life less ipa

Draught cask at Craft Beer Co. Covent Garden. Rather cloudy appearance, not much aroma. Not much in the way of flavour either, was hoping for a bit more malt body or lifting hop notes.

On cask. Appearance: red with a decent dirty white head. Aroma: lactose and grain, caramel, honey and overripe almost rotten citrus. Flavour: mild bitterness with some far overripe fruit, malty with hints of vanilla. Medium length bitterness with a malty backbone.

A nice dark copper appearance. A toffee aroma with a strong hoppy taste and a hint of lemon. The hoppy taste stays on the palate long after the drink.
