The Thornbridge Sequoia American Amber Ale has beautiful citrus and pine notes that come from our generous additions of Amarillo, Centennial and Chinook hops. It is smooth and velvety in the mouth with the toasted malts giving it a medium body with hints of roasted hazelnut, toffee and caramel malt flavours. Sequoia, a beautiful beer for all occasions!

Not a huge amount going on here, tasty enough amber ale, lightly sweet and somewhat tangy and bitter.

Cask at In de Wildeman. Clear amber colour, no head. Aroma of caramel, sweet nuts, toast, light fruity, citrus hops, grass, Fisherman’s Friend. Flavour is hoppy, malty, caramel, nuts, toast, FF again, pine and grapefruit bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied. Nice.

On cask @ In de Wildeman. Lightly hazy red pour. Aroma is sprucey, light citrus notes, light burnt caramel notes, fruity english yeast - very much an english bitter with fruity/piney american hops. Flavor is fruity, light burnt caramel, very well balanced malt and bitterness. I would have sworn by cascade hops, but apparently it’s amarillo and the 2 other C-hops. Palate is one of the best all night, nice silky malty body with just the right amount of subtle carbonation. Top shape ale, I wish this is what american amber ales really were about, helas, this is way too British ;)

Poured clear reddish brown with a small white head. Aroma of zesty raspberry and caramel malt. Medium body, flavour is sweet berries over the malt. Sweet end.

Cask at the Euston Tap. Looks great - deep red-brown with a clingy white head, clean and light citrus and peppery hops on the nose, initial toffee character is a little muted, but then it opens up a bit, with juicy nut and marmalade notes. Lingering citrus bitterness.

Tap (@Cask Pub&Kitchen, Pimlico): Deep golden with a amber sheen, hazy, small foamy layer, toasty-malty nose with a certain amount of citrussy-juicy hops; dryish bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied and quite soft; a slight tartness in the delicately malty and citrussy finish: Good, but more british than american influences detectable...
