Not a huge amount going on here, tasty enough amber ale, lightly sweet and somewhat tangy and bitter.

Cask @ Euston Tap. Amber/copper with white head and loadsa lacing. Spruce and mango aroma. Muted bitter taste, allowing the hop profile to shine but not overwhelm. Thin palette. This is a fairly staid beer, but works well enough.

On tap at Fermentoren, Aarhus. For once I pass on writing own comments, and choose simply to quote the brewery’s tasting notes, which seemed quite accurate to me: "The Thornbridge Sequoia American Amber Ale has beautiful citrus and pine notes that come from our generous additions of Amarillo, Centennial and Chinook hops. It is smooth and velvety in the mouth with the toasted malts giving it a medium body with hints of roasted hazelnut, toffee and caramel malt flavours. Sequoia, a beautiful beer for all occasions!"

Keg in Vesuvio, Darlington. Amber and sparkling with a white head. Some notes of grapefruit and caramel but not strong. A bit disappointing for a Thornbridge. Improves as it warms up.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask @ Black Door. Aroma is quite nothing, perhaps some hayish malt. Flavour is a bit harsh with malt, gooseberry bush and harsh bitterness. Feels a bit watery. Perhaps too old, the hops feel mellow and harsh.

Tap. Clear redish coolor. Medium size, yellow head, stays. Pine, citrus, orange, sweet, fruity aroma. Fruity, grainy, mild pine in taste. Medium bitterness. Light body and maybe bit thin, but as a summer beer very drinkable.
