Tzara is a hybrid beer, fermented like an ale but matured like a lager. A delicate straw coloured, crisp, refreshing beer

Bottle. Pale yellow body, medium to small head. Sweet malty aroma with white bread and tender hops. Nice mouthfeel with good carbonation. Crisp malty taste combining refreshing pilsnery crispness and ale warmness. Finish is slightly creamy but in a good way. Very drinkable beer, beautifully balanced clean tastes and nothing in-your-face - that’s the way more beers should be.

500ml bottle: BBD 26 Aug 16. Poured into a tall 0.2 litre Gaffel Kölsch glass three times at home on 20 Nov 15. Exceedingly pale gold with a white head and carbonation bubbles rising through the clear body: the head however still dies swiftly. Almost odourless, slight, very slight hop and maltiness if you sniff hard enough, corn like if anything. Taste is hard to detect with the flavours being subtle to none existent. Let’s just say it is refreshing and light in nature taste wise. I struggle with Kölsch bier at the best of times and this hybrid has not made we want to go out and find more beers in the style or close to it.

50cl bottle from Marks & Spencer, Camberley. A pale straw colour with a loose white head; sweet grainy aroma; sweet grainy taste; and a clean grassy bitterness. True Kölsch style, immediately reminds me of the times I’ve worked in Köln.

Tried on tap (keg) at the Mailbox, Lincoln. Pale straw colour with a thick white head. Slight hoppy aroma, but very light a touch of a dank aroma too. Taste is light and crisp.
