3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
August 26, 2013 - on draught at Cask Pub & Kitchen. Clear gold, slightly bubbly with a small white head. Sweet and wheaty/grainy aroma - honey and pear, a little mineral tang. Taste follows - yep, it’s a kolsch - a minerally/grassy lager. Light body, solid carbonation, quick heathery/minerally finish. Very delicate and enjoyable on a hot day. Not world-beating, but I would have it again.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2013 Clear golden pour with a thin white lace. Fruit, malt, straw aroma. Crisp, malty brew. Thin body makes for a very easy and potentially dangerous session brew.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours clear golden. Aroma is dusty with some floral notes. Taste is medium bitter and light sweet. Crisp finish, though a bit boring.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
LCBF. Clear yellow, big white head. Smells of lager, slightly sour. Taste…….lager. Overall, I would call this a fairly standard lager in all honesty. Can’t differentiate it from most of the commercial stuff. Not the best beer to have as my #700.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Not much else to say here besides the fact it’s very clean and sessionable. Which is exactly what you want in a Kolsch. Good stuff

Just a standard pale lager. Pretty easy going light biscuit malts. Not my sorta beer but gets the job done for a palate cleanser

Bottle. Golden with a white foam. Aromas are cereal grain with biscuit and lightly nutty lager malts. Lemon with apricot and candy sugar. Yeast with traces of lime. Flavours are clean grain with grassy, citrusy hops. Peanuts with bready toast. Has a decent sparkle. Pretty good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle. Pale gold with a white head. Aroma is muted lagery grain and slight lacto presence. Tastes of honey and green apple with hops coming through on the mid-palate. Nice and refreshing attempt at this style, although not hugely distinguished.
