September 8, 2014 - at Craft Clapham - on draught. Deep clear ruby-black with a lasting creamy beige-tan head. Aroma is lush - malty, muted hop bitterness, some plum and coffee - low level but very nice. Taste - hops in background, mostly fruit, roast and coffee, restrained coffee. Solid chewy body, mild carbonation, quickish finish, a little treacle in the aftertaste, definitely coffee - lovely beer.

Black with a light brown head - Fruity hop aroma - Good malt to support a good hop flavour with flowers, fruits and nice bitterness - Good hop finish with bitterness - This was good

Keg @ Grove Huddersfield. Valravn is probably Wild Raven in Vikingr speak. I’d rather give some Vikingr Valravn as a ’don’t chop my head off with your sword called Bastardheadcutter’ offering rather than the ’shit run away’ Wild Raven. Faintly aged tasted with more of a salty shanty seaside licorice flavour. Almost Mikkellerish. The BIPA taste is there - I suggest oak ageing for this one to make magic beer.

Tap @ the Taphouse Sydney. Black with small tan head. Understated, yet complex earthy hop aromas with a roasted malt edge. Enjoyable English hop flavours that are not too bitter, but the alcohol is obvious towards the end of the palate, which detracts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg, Craft Clapham, London, Saturday 4th October 2014. Very dark brown with tiny bubbled film across top, soft mouthfeel. Some pine resin and a little dark treacle but hoppiness wins out, good balance and exceptionally easy drinking for the strength. Really like this. A8 A4 T9 P4 Ov17 4.2

On tap @ Haandfest 2014. This is one of those really deep and dark almost cola colored beers with a really islandy, med sized and lacing top. Roasted nose with coffee and some old chocolate. A little bit of cardboard also detected. Hard to describe what this smells like but its actually not all that bad. A good carbonation level left here in a light oily mouthfeel. It has some chocolaty flavors, and it’s definitely well hopped. Biscuits and a lingering vanilla-ish tail. Good stuff. 24.05.2014
