Orange color with large white head. The aroma is of malt, hay and some fruitiness. And the flavor is full of wheat, herbal and floral notes, and a ok bitter finish.

Tap sampled at Highbury. Thanks Matsui-san! Big banana and clove driven nose that really jumps out of the glass. Palate is a little thin with a slightly watery texture. Some pear and fall fruit esters in there with more clove and banana bread notes. Easy drinking, but could be a little creamier I guess.

(Thornbridge Versa) At Thornbridge Den Bosch, one third of a pint. Orange coloured body, one finger of thick white head on top, average retention and good lacing left behind. Aroma of wheat, clove, ripe pears. Taste also of wheat and plenty of it, clove, banana, ripe pears, bubblegum. Medium thin body, with good carbonation. Quite good.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2016 500ml bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a thick off-white head. Aroma: banana, lemon, wheat, cloves, coriander. Taste: as the aroma, typical fruity banana and lemon, with a nice level of spice/herb, some wheat/yeast as well. Oily mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Finally a British brewer that does a good job of interpreting a Hefeweizen.

Keg tap from the Old Bicycle Shop, Cambridge. Light yellow/gold, hazy with very little head. Something akin to a classic Hefe smell: yeast, banana bread, vanilla. Not spicy like many Hefes, it’s more muted. Very English, mustn’t make a fuss. Sweet taste with bready malt to the fore. May be too sweet for many but I like it. Finish has a trace of balancing hop. Some coconut and dried banana in the aftertaste. Nicely carbonated, lifting the mouthfeel to no end. A good beer without being top notch.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2016 BOTTLE 50 CL. Cloudy orange, big off-white head. Classic fruity banana and sweet bread aroma, just a bit spicy. The taste is similar, shifted more towards sweet fruit and bread than clove. Soft, smooth and rich mouthfeel. A classic weizen.

500ml bottle at home. Sorry, I was paying more attention to Ross Kemp Extreme World than the beer..

Bottle. Hazy golden body with no head or lacing. Steady carbonation. Aroma of foam bananas and cereal dust. Flavour of metal, chalky lemon and pithy orange. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. A very disappointing effort - dull, lifeless and criminally thin. It’s been a while since I’ve had a great Thornbridge beer...
