Draught at the Kerho, Tampere, Finland as Bear State. Golden color with a small white head. The aroma is fruity hops, sweetness and malt. The flavor is fruity hops, melon, moderate bitterness, malt and general satisfaction. Not a bad IPA at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught 1/2 pint (keg) at the Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, on 13-Aug-2015 - Thornbridge tap takeover as part of London Beer City 2015. Bear State West Coast IPA. Clear golden amber with a thick white head. Fruity pine aroma - lots of tropical fruits, grapefruit and caramel. Medium body and carbonation. A fruit packed hoppy flavour, lots of peach, passionfruit, orange and grapefruit. Nice malty caramel backbone and a hoppy bitter finish.

Bottle as "Bear State". Opaque golden body with a medium head. Aroma has biscuits and dry citric fruits, also rhubarb. The aroma is nice but a bit too weak. Taste has oily lemon peel and soft malt. Bitterness is medium, occasionally even low (for the attempted style). Tastes generic and uninteresting. This is actually a disappointment, because I expected something on par with their Halcyon.

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. A clear golden colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, peach, mango, slight orange and subtle caramel. Taste of grapefruit, peach, mango, pine, some resin, caramel and slight toffee near the end. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, lingering, citrus hop bitterness in the finish. A straight forward American hopped IPA but the formula works so well. Citrusy, piney and caramelly. Nice.

Caña en el scotland yard La Virgen del Camino. 14-08-2015. Color ambar anaranjado con espuma blanca poco persistente. Aromas y sabores maltosos con toques afrutados tropicales y algo dulces. Cuerpo medio fácil de beber. No está mal refrescante.

Citrus-pine aroma in a golden-amber pour. Nice hop forward balance to start but the body is a little woody and the finish a little too resiny to my taste (for the style).

500ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Hazy yellow amber, reasonable head. Oaty hop aroma. Tropical fruit & hop flavour. Slightly spicy tropical fruit aftertaste. Another best recent beer.

From tap. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruity and pine hoppy. Bitter, light herbal. Solid hoppy. Smooth fruity and crisp hoppy finish.
