On keg at The Cask Pub and Kitchen. Pours a dark golden colour with a fair white head. Aroma of pineapple, passion fruit, grapefruit and caramel. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Lingering pineapple and passion fruit again. Very nice.

Draught @ Black Door, Helsinki (as Bear State) Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of fresh juicy fruits, orange peel, citrus, pine, resin and caramely malts. Taste is smooth, malty and fresh hoppy with loads of bitter fruits, pine, resin, hints of orange peel and herbal notes. Finish is malty, fruity and lingering bitter with some herbal hoppiness and caramely notes. Fresh and quite tasty malty IPA.

Keg @ CPK. The pour’s deep, hazy amber orange with a massive white head. The nose is burning floral hops, mild cheddar cheese, some apricot and glazed brioche bread. Light grapefruit. The taste is mild tropical mango, some meaty peach and summer fruit sweetness. Apricot. A hefty malt presence reigns in the bitter finish of this beer. Good balance. A bit syrupy. Very smooth for the ABV. Overall, quite nice.

Keg London, poured in a tulip and enjoyed outside in the sun. Yellow very little head. Low carbonation, mid body, oily texture. Malty sweetness to start very piney from the hops, dry bitter finish with some astringency. Authentic copy of a West Coast IPA. Nice.

Bottle as Bear State West Cost IPA, from Beermoth, Northern Quarter, Manchester, purchased and consumed later at Holiday Inn Express, Oxford Road, after Godspeed You! Black Emperor gig on Friday 17th April 2015 I have poured this into a green glass so determining the colour is a tad awkward but I am guessing golden with a white head. a touch of pine on the aroma with some late citrus (grapefruit) coming through. Sweet and malty but not too malty and a bit dry. A dab of tropicana about this as well. Like it. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

On keg @CPK, lovely hop aroma, slightly hazy in appearance, soft carbonation, satisfying hop finish. drinks easier than the 7% would suggest. Bargain £2.75 a half

On Keg in Cask P&K. Pours russet orange, crystal clear, medium white cream head with thick white lacing on glass. Nose is tropical fruit, mango, papaya, touch of passion fruit and pineapple, then it’s prickly hop, nettle, and caramel malt. Taste is prickly bitter green hop, and ctirous bitter fruit. Not so much soft fruit in this and the finish is a prickly green hop, pine and spice on the tongue.

Keg at Craft Beer Co Brixton. It pours amber with a medium white head. The nose is orange, tangerine, peach, Irn Bru, pine, grass and floral notes. The taste is sweet orange, zesty, grapefruit, peach, resin, pine, Irn Bru and Parma Violets with a bitter finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and slightly syrupy mouth-feel. Tasty stuff.
