500ml bottle, as Bear State, from beeritz. Dry biscuit malt and subtle citrus in the nose, pink grapefruit and lime, zesty sherbety middle leading into a finish that has perfect balance, light dry bitterness on the finish, very crisp. Light medium bodied, texture is oily. So easy to drink, the bottle was gone in no time.

Bottled. A slightly hazy, gold/amber colour with a small off-white head. A good, fresh hoppy aroma, with some fruit and some resin. Big body in the mouth. Lots of dry, hoppy resin flavours, with a slightly earthy, bitter finish. Well balanced, clean, with nice warmth from the alcohol. Very good.

On tap at Craft Islington. Clear mid gold with lasting white head. Yes now us a nicely hoppy ipa. Almost on the radox side of piney. Not a huge aroma. Sherberty hops in mouth. Just a crash of piney grapefruit and lemon. Pretty damn good and a sublime ipa from an English brewer. Lovely. More please barman. Hides abv well.

Draught. Golden color, lacy thin head. Starts with citrusy, grapefruity and peachy hops. A hint of grass, light caramel as well. Dry, slightly biscuity malts, some creamy caramel, grapefruit juice, gooseberry. Lingering, fruity and slightly resinous hop flavor. Medium body, malty and smooth, quite low carbonation. Good stuff.

50cl bottle (as Bear State). 6 weeks old. Light clear gold pour, nice lasting white head. Great citrus and mango nose, some sugary pineapple and grain. Big juicy citrus, pineapple sweets and drier grapefruit pith in the taste, super clean, bit of biscuit and grain. Dry finish, good medium/full body, brilliant IPA.

Craft. Clear amber beer, small cream coloured head. Palate is soft but with a stinging carbonation lurking. Nice sweet hops! Sweet pine with sweet generic fruits - orange and peach most readily identifiable. Malt cream. Minerals. Crisp finish. Nice beer!

On tap at Cask, Pimlico. Probably the best of the several IPAs I’ve had from Thornbridge, and among the better English approximations of the West Coast style for sure. Elegant and bright light orange pour, nice filmy head and a clean, earthy look to the brew. Big booming tropical fruits in the nose, heavy on the mango and tangerine. Full mouthfeel, but not heavy, and with a light spicy tickle on the palate. Dry and bitter hops balance out the floral, fruity sweetness from the nose. It’s a terrifically well balanced, inviting, and complex IPA.
