Had at a cask ale festival. Slightly smoky, malty, nice bitterness. Maybe a little light on the palate for the style, but very satisfying.

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Pours clear, ruby-brown with a fine, creamy head. Sugary, dark malts in the nose, some brown sugar, ripe fruits. Medium to big sweet flavor with lightly dry toast, dark fruit sugars, bread, mild earthy bitterness. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sticky sweet finish, more rich bread, light bitterness, brown sugar, dark and ripe fruits. Pretty tasty beer overall. Enjoyable.

Craft Clerkenwell. Clear dark red - amber beer, small off white head. Slightly viscous palate. Burned toffee malt with a trace of coffee. Tangy dried fruits. Finishes semi dry with mild red berry fruits. A curious brew this, more interesting than drinkable.

On cask at Coach and Horse Dronfield - A deep near black ruby body, very boozy on the nose, hits of malt and cake fruits there. As expected there were the smoky tastes, nuts, toast, coffee, but sweetened up a bit as you get used to the drink. Very nice, but regretting the third and fourth pint of this. Ouch.

On cask at The Cask Kitchen & Pub London. Crystal clear due to cask-conditioning with half a finger of vanilla ice cream colored head. A pleasant, lightly spiced ale with hints of heather and loads of dark malt flavor. Good head retention for 7.4% and very smooth mouthfeel. Overall an excellent winter beverage perfect for cold December nights. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On cask at The Bow Bar. Pours a beautiful deep ruby brown colour with a thick beige head. Aroma of roasty malt, toffee and caramel. Upfront coffee and chocolate with nice plum pudding and alcohol to finish. A great Scotch ale.
