Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a very fast disappearing light brown head. The aroma is lovely acidic apply combined with notes of wood and malt. The flavor is strongly apply with a slight acidity from the apples, which mixes beutifully in with the notes of wood and malt. Another masterpeice with a good body.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a clear, dark, nutty brown with a small, off-white head dissipating in no time. Sweetínísour lambicish aroma - or perhaps rather Faro? Thereís some brown sugar in there, and woody almost bourbon style accents. Medium body with sweetish, oaky accents and a tart finish. Thanks heaps highlandlad for this gem. I really love Billy Bs... 080107

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at St Georgeís Cemetary RB Gathering. Many thanks to arleks and duff for bringing this. Black beer with beige head. Sour apple, some toffee and coffee. Sticky like a toffee apple. Bit sweeter than the gold one we had at Battersea. Good fun to drink though.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light brown and a bit cloudy. Wild nose, brett, loads of barrel like charred port and also quite of fruit. Taste is sweet, balsamic without the acetic, lots if appley finish. Alcohol is hidden. There us some subtle diacetyl notes that Iím not liking but I donít get them with every sip. Fun, whacky stuff. Quite unique

Bottle @ OzíníNZ tasting 2011. [thanks bluebetty]
Pours deep chestnug, small creamy, off-white film head. Lovely aroma with tartness, green apples, oak, lightly roasted malts, liqourice and wood. Medium carbonation, light and fresh mouthfeel. Flavour is really super-fresh, tart, vinegar, lots of apple character, lightly vinious. Some roasted malts and liqourice mix up well. Sourish, sharp, oaky finish. Super fresh and delicious. Yum!

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
LCRBM2: Apple wine in the aroma, combined with a touch of roast. Strong very sweet apple flavor, sugary and vinous. The brew is so sweet that it hurts your teeth.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Brownish head. Loads of apple and a light sourness underlaying it all in the aroma. Flavour is quite sweet and again has loads of apple. Is quite acidic and dry, but has a nice balance. Is medium bodied. Ends on a alcoholdense and quite acidic note. Not as good as the Golden Malted, but still quite a treat.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled - LCRBM2 - A dark amber coloured beer with no head. The aroma is very sour with cider smells also. The taste is very spritzy, fizzy sweet apple cider. The sourness is more subdued than in the nose. The alcohol is totally hidden. I was concerned about these two Thorogoods in spite of the recommendations from my fellow English raters, but I have to say they are very very tasty. I enjoyed this one more than the light one - just.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear red-foxy beer with a small yellowish head, gone in seconds. Aged, dried apples on a sunny loft. Candied apple peel. Sweet-sour taste, in a perfect cider-like balance. Yet, apples, no extra flavours. Tart, with some adstringent to burning impression, and a fizzy MF. Incomparably better than the "Golden" version. Maybe this is how commercial Normandy cider ought to be. Not to be compared with real farmyard ciders.
