3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub in Indianapolis, IN. Pours a black body with a finger-width, creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is chocolates, plummy dark fruits, black cherries, a light roast backing, and a touch of biscuit. Flavor is similar. Chocolates, roasts, and some plummy dark fruits up front before some black cherries and a touch of biscuit come in. Finishes dry and lightly bitter from the roasts and a light earthiness. Lengthy aftertaste following a lighter body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, an enjoyable porter. Nothing special, but a nice chocolate, roast, and dark fruitiness.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that was mostly lasting and excellent lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted chocolate sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Flight draft on tap at the brewpub (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a richer blackish pour, firm haze, and brownish glowing bottom and edges. Not opaque, but the beer is dark with a frothy chocolate milk hued head atop that dies to a thicker ring, laces pretty well. Aromas are touches of dark fruit, plum and raisin, black cherries meet roasty malts, cocoa. Gentle toffee, coffee, and biscuits. Good aromas, dark fruit slanted with more cocoa. Initial is medium bodied, a touch nutty up front with cocoa, biscuits, a touch of sticky molasses. Some brown malts, smooth and inviting with just a subtle dark fruit presence (much more subtle than the nose let on). Cocoa, dark chocolate, and some smoothed over biscuits, toffee. A bit thinner than I expected from a richer nose. Touches of caramel, biscuits, gentle roast, and dryness linger into the backend and finish. Leaves a mellow sweetness, darker malts, a bit underwhelming in that department. A solid Porter even though it really tapers out to a forgettable finish. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at brewpub. Chocolate and roasty flavor as expected. Not a heavy body for a porter. Slightly burnt taste. Nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
tap at the brewpub - Pours very dark brown with an off-white head. It smells of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with dark roast malt and a little chocolate. There’s some bitterness in the finish, but it’s mild. This porter is medium bodied and lightly carbonated. I found it a little bland but otherwise fairly good.
