Bottled (thanks Papsoe!). Very deep ambery brown colour, small beige head. Aroma is riped fruits, mild raisins, liquorice and some slight toasted notes. Flavour is mild roasted malts, some liquorice, mild ashes as well as some slight toasted notes. Well balanced and quite smooth.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2012 Bottle. Very dark brown, beige head. Aroma: chocolate, sweet licorice, coffee, fruit. Taste: a lot of licorice, chocolate, honey, light coffee, dark wine gums, some acidity, medium-bitter, dry. Light body for 8% I get no real smoke here. First sampled at a beer festival, raised from 3.7 to 3.8 here.

Sample @ GPF 2011. Pours dark brown with a small bubbly tanned head leaving some lacing. Aroma is sweet, smokey, raisins, malty and fruity. Flavor is acidy, smokey, malty, bitter, dry and fruity. Finishes bitter dry and fruity.

Sample @ Porterfestivalen in Gothenburg on November 19. Pours deep brown with a mocha head. Smell is rather subtle with toasted malts and some chocolate. Taste is rather tart with toasted malts, herbs, flowers and some lemon zest.

Bottle at SBWF, October 6, 2011. Dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma was sweet with roasted malt, licorice and some coffee. Pleasant taste with a long and bitter aftertaste.

Bottle, 33 cl: Red brown beer with a small cappuccino-colored head. Toasted aroma with notes of caramel, roast stew, dark fruits and a little (rather subdued) smoke. Taste is very sweet and medium to heavy bitter with a velvety mouthfeel. Medium body, oily texture and surprisingly long and bitter finish. Nicely balanced and surprisingly un-edgy.
