3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2010 500ml bottle, batch 1151, tulip glass. Hazy golden hue, small particles. Very impressive huge white frothy head (like in the Duvel photo), slowly diminishing, crazy amount of lacing. A mixture of exciting hop aromas dominate especially citrus & tropical fruit - passion fruit. Fruity with a bit of spice. Taste is initially moderately to heavy biscuit malt sweet finishing sweet then lightly bitter lingering, a touch of good lemony sourness. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.
I enjoyed this beer - the best I have ever had that comes in a green bottle. Another Christmas present from Mark - thanks Mark.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Appears pale golden in the glass with a fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus, gooseberry, grape and malt. The flavour is biscuit malt, citrus, gooseberry and grape - subtle similarities to a sauvignon blanc. Light bodied with soft carbonation and low bitterness. Hint of fruit in the finish. Refreshing ale, though I did lose some interest in this beer after a glass.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2009 Bottle, Pomeroys Tasting - Nice aroma of gooseberry, with hints of passionfruit and something else that I couldn’t put my finger on but was enjoyable. Nice biscuity malt tastes with a clean bitterness. Enjoyable.
Re rate 6/11/09 (was 7,3,6,3,11) - this is tasting superb.
Clean crisp malt, passionfruit, gooseberry and a hint of sweet pineapple. Excellent

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear light golden with a bit of sediment at the very end creating a slight haze. The head is large, white, and lasting and leaves lace for half the glass. Aroma initially is green tropical fruit, calling to mind the rind of mangoes. With time, passionfruit and orange peel become dominant. Flavours are biscuity pale malt balanced equally with hop flavours of tropical fruit and citrus oil, slightly floral. Finish is nicely bitter.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours golden with a small white head. Nose shows some slight passion & citrus (sauvin hops?) wiith biscuity malt aswell. Palate is a mirror image. The slightest hint of fruit (and interest) early on before biscuity, slightly grainy malt comes in to dominate. Finishes with light, spicy bitterness. Overall quite sessionable but verging on boring. No doubt its well made but the pils and the ipa are the same. Left me wondering what could be...

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
500mL bottle from Regional. Pours murky golden, white dissipating head.
There is a lot of sweet honey on the nose, some fruity esters (passionfruit, citrus) and a touch of hops.
In the mouth, hop bitterness dominates the palate balanced soon after with a helping of sweet honey like malt. Finishes quite long and bitter, hops last for a while.
A very palatable, enjoyable session beer. With plenty of nice flavour.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500mL bottle. Pours a pale yellow with a soft, fluffy white head. Interesting lacing.
A strong grapefruit aroma with grassy hops. A sweetness of ripe oranges and some floral notes. Malt and yeast only just make themselves known.
Nice malt in the flavours. Citrus hops that present as lemon mostly and a candy-like sweetness. The alcohol is present, but I’m not complaining.
A nice zesty bitterness in the finish.
A bit watery, but quite refreshing indeed.
