3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled from a 500mL bottle. Almost black, with a decent tan head. This beer has moderate chocolate and burnt malt aroma. It tastes similar also, with a long finish. The burnt malts slightly dominate the chocolate. Slightly one dimensional for my liking, and perhaps a bit thin for a stout. Typical light stout carbonation. This beer seems to get good reviews, so I might revisit at a later date. But for now, it seemed just average to me.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from ballantynes, christchurch. Black color, on of the biggest brown heads ever seen. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, licorice. High co2, roasty, coffee, balanced. Nice stout, but the head is getting over the glass when poured.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Craft Beer Rising (London, 19 February 2015)
Black with thin coffee brown rims and a head of coffee brown foam.
The nose shows a briny oyster background with notes of dark chocolate and latte.
The palate shows a slight tartness. Medium bodied & carbonation. Very smooth with flavors of dark chocolate and espresso and once again, the briny oyster constantly in the background. These flavors blend together harmoniously. Very clean espresso finish. All flavors are balanced, clean, and clear.

Chocolate, toast and a pleasant sweetness at the back end. Couldn’t pick up briny-ness but enjoyable drop anyway

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark brown with massive beige head. Head reduces fast but some foam still remains. Taste has some velvety fruitiness, coffee, bit oily texture. Strong coffee malts, bitter chocolate. Nice balance with salty sea characteristics, bit sour feel in the aftertaste. Nice sturdy stout.

Pitch black in the glass, with head retained well, (caramel colour). Chocolate and bread, with a roasted coffee nose.
Light and smooth, almost nutty, flavour comes out now.
Long Finish. Delightful, 500ml bottle.

bottle, bar in queenstown NZ. Tried this over the weekend and really surprised me as I ordered an IPA but got served this by mistake! Nose and appearance pretty standard stout, rich full. taste and palate were excellent the beer got better the more I drank it, it was really well balanced but whilst being a strong stout with a lot of roasted coffee and chocolate notes with a touch of brinyness!

Nice creamy head. Roasted coffee in aroma. Mocha in taste. Not a great oyster taste but there is tone of the sea shell. Smooth and light on palate. Easy finish. 6.5%. 2.3 std drinks. 500ml
