3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle
Aroma: bread yeast, not much hops but there is a faint whiff. There is a hint of something, floral honey?
Appearance: Pale gold colour, large head that dissipates quickly leaving a fairly extensive lacing.
Taste: Bitter-hops come out fairly well, faintly sweet. Finishes semi sweet with a bitter touch.
Palate: light to medium body, thin creamy texture, carbonation not soft but not lively either. Light alcoholic finish
Overall: Not a bad little beer. Pleasant and would add charm to a local.

500 ml bottle Batch 1015 Halswell New World. Nice bright gold, slightly milky. Decent firm head. Well balanced nose, grassy & fresh. Again, nice even balance between malt & hops. Butterscotch, herby & a bit of pepper too. Was waiting for a big finish but didn’t arrive - perhaps it’s only flaw.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, pale golden with a small, white head. Very fresh aroma of fruit and summer flowers. Quite a solid, malty body with a good malt sweetness before a very solid hop bitterness with loads of aroma hops and fresh flower notes. Yet another example to show that capable New Zealand micros can brew excellent pilseners with locally grown hops. 040208

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear brassy golden with a large frothy white head that leaves lace all the way. Fragrant flowery citrus rind aroma with underlying clean grains. Crisp grainy palate, perfumey lemon hoppiness, and a striking dry bitter finish. An excellent pilsener, true to style, delicious.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appears perfectly acceptable with a fluffy whtenduring head. Golden yellow malt aromas immediately waft from the glass along with subtle grassy, sprucy hoppiness.
Tart grassiness is the first of the flavours and then resin. Fresh and light, crisp and quenching. Fairly simple, but does the job.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale yellow hue. Soft, thin white head.
Lime zesty hops, passionfruit sweetness, malt and grassy notes.
Sweet, fruity flavours. Hops present as citrus and are nice and strong.
A straw malt underlies complex fruity flavours, some of which I identify as peach and apricot.
A mild bitter finish.
Can get a bit too sweet after a while, but still awesome.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
500mL bottle from Regionals. Pours classic golden, white bubbly head which hangs around for a bit and dissipates.
A nice crisp lemony hop aroma, bit of honey and grass to it. Hops are definitely showcased on the aroma, very nice.
Flavour is crisp, as one would expect from a pilsener but not without flavour. There are nice citrusy hops, making things crisp yet not clean with a good bitterness. Honeyish malt comes in a bit later, not too strongly so it remains crisp, but the grainy honey flavour doesn’t really match the zesty hops. Otherwise no complaints.
Crisp and hoppy, this one is a real thirst quencher.
