A descent, easy drinking IPA. I did’t write down tasting notes, just an overall score.

Thanks to RussianDragon for the bottle.
The beer is clear and light golden with an inch of white head. Aromas include tangerine, bread dough, light pine. Refreshing and tasty. Citrus character comes through, balanced by a sourdough, yeast character. A hint of melon, finishing with a gentle bitterness. Alcohol masked quite well. A solid brew.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle into a tulip glass, no release date.
Aroma: citrus, pine, resin
Appearance: clear, deep amber with large white head and medium lacing.
Taste: citrus, grapefruit, pine, bread.
Palate: just the right amount of "thick", medium carbonation with a good medium, hoppy finish.
Overall: Nothing remarkable, but not a bad IPA.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at Vintage Cellar, Blacksburg VA 7.18.14. Pours a clear amber/copper color with white head that settled quickly. Aroma is citrus and grassy hops, and light malt. The aroma is the best thing about this beer - flavor was solid IPA with a bitter grassy finish. Worth trying.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear amber and copper coloured body with a ridiculously large, seven centimetre tall plain white head. Aroma of light citrus and grassy hop note with some light malt and a hint of yeast. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a light grassy and herbal flavour of hops, some subdued malt and a hint of apricot and fruity sweetness at the end. Aftertaste shows a very light finish with the hops coming out and perhaps some grass notes. Overall, a rather light IPA that is seemingly on the session side, but at 7,1% abv, perhaps not so much. Not a bad beer so much as it’s just lacking in the flavours of other beers from the style, especially East Coast IPAs. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 22-April-2014 for US$1,49 sampled at home in Washington on 06-July-2014.

Pint on tap at Byers Street Bistro, Staunton. Hazy amber with a creamy disc of foam. Nose is resin, citrus zest, toasted grain and earthy orange toffee. Taste is a nice blend of the same. Near medium body is balanced and sessionable with a medium carbonation.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear copper pour with a tall sticky off-white head.
Aroma of citrus hops, some sweet caramel.
The flavor is more to the sweet side. The hop bitterness is low but comes in for some dryness in the finish. Lacks a good crisp hop character.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
355 ml bottle from Vienna, VA. Yet another American Hopped Ale. Pours a deep gold towards amber, slight head. Aroma is citrus and slightly earthy hops. Flavor is lightly caramel malts and massive citrus hops. Palate is balanced but dry. I have never been a fan of this style and never will be. It is just not pleasant.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2014 On draft. Aroma of citrus and roasted nuts. Strong flavors of bitter grapefruit and caramel malts, fainter flavors of chewy hazelnut and toffee. Sophisticated east coast IPA. (Nota bene: Twice I’ve picked up six-packs of this beer and had it be very, very off. Both times the beer had been brewed in the previous two weeks. Once was likely a gusher infection, once the beer was just oily-weird. Wonder if other RateBeer-ers are having similar issues as this could account for the all-over-the-place ratings on this beer. I contacted the brewery each time, received no response.)
