3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the recent Secret Santa. This pours a copper color with a small head that leaves minimal lacing. Caramel, toasted grain, and some fruity hops in the aroma which is pleasant enough. Plenty of caramel malt sweetness to this with tame fruity hops, toasted bread, grain, and light bitterness. The flavor actually tilts more malty than hoppy. Clean and easy drinking but leaves me wanting more.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sample at the Brewery The IPA pours amber in color with a white head and lacing. The aroma has citrus, pine and spruce. The taste had mild citrus bitterness with caramel malts. The medium body ale had average carbonation. The finish was smooth with a clean finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft offering at a pedestrian sports bar in NoVA. Fairly aggressively hopped with acidic hops, this drinks with a nice sting, but not too much of one. I had two. (#5396, 12/1/2013)

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
I love it when I find a regional brew I can recommend, but this one doesnít qualify. This is a pretty bad beer. It pours a cloudy light brown with no head, and thereís not much aroma to comment on, either. The flavor is watery and weak and bad. itís a little medicinal, but there isnít much else to say about it.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle from obguthr
Pours cloudy amber with a medium sized off-white head that dissipates quickly leaving lots of lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, caramel, herbal hops and burnt rubber. Flavor is grapefruit, caramel, metallic and pine resin
OK, but not balanced. The hops were bitter and lots of caramel, but they didnít go together.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
No head, very little carbonation, almost flat. Very little aroma or flavor other than alcohol. The color is a nice copper, but everything else is disappointing.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours clear and medium gold. A nice off-white head puffs up before dying away to a light coating of bubbles after a few minutes. The aroma is lacking. Thereís just not much there. Light hops, some citrus and pine. A bit of caramel malt. Some neutral yeastiness. The taste is similarly underwhelming. Some caramel malt flavor and mild generic American hoppiness. Itís relatively dry, which is nice, but it needs some flavor to fill things out. Mouthfeel is fine, light with average carbonation. This bottle should be pretty fresh - itís less than a month from the bottling date - but it really doesnít seem quite right. I wouldnít be surprised if the beer was markedly better on tap and in future bottling runs. Great Outdoors showed promise, and Iím a bit surprised that this is a step back.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Serving: Draft at Leesburg Brewing Company. It pours a nice amber color with a small off white head. The nose has lots of caramel notes, but is weak in the hops department. The flavor has a good bit of caramel malt as well with light soapy and floral notes. Slight off vegetal note. Thin on the tongue. I thought it might be old, but itís a fresh keg. Weak offering for an IPA. Imperial in alcohol only.
