So we made a mistake and we got a bigger IPA. This thing is big, and it’s in charge. Time to bring aboard “The Admiral”.

Really solid. A bit more malty and bitter and pine-hop influenced than their other big ipa. Still, a really lovely beer.

Cat urine and marigold nose, moderately strong. Clear amber, medium cream colored head with good lacing. Sweet malt and cat pee. I’m guessing there must be Simcoe in this IPA, but I’ve been wrong before. Lillies noticeable. Medium body and smooth. Good example of an "East Coast" IPA

Medium orange amber. Aroma is pleasantly citrus hops. Flavor is gummy malts and smoothly citric hops, pineapple and grapefruit. Very, very pleasant. Really liked this.

Sampled at Slutfest 4 - Sexytime! Wow. Fairly impressed here. Semi murky dull golden pour Really nice piney aroma with a slight mango fruitiness. Well balanced, but with a good punch. Medium bitter lingering bite. Nice.

Growler from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of herbal, resin and almost catty hops, a bit of citrus and toffee malts. The taste is bitter resin hops, citrus, toffee malts. Medium bodied, decent balance, lingering bitterness.

Heavy aromas of grapefruit, with some caramel and toast. Hazy orange with a moderately lasting, white head. Bitter with a touch of sweetness, very balanced. Medium-full bodied with average carbonation, and finishes with a good bit of hops and just enough malt. The balance is nice, and makes for a very easily palatable double IPA, and the high ABV is covered up really well.

Serving: Draft at MacDowell Brew Kitchen. It pours a hazy orange color with a small, off white head. The nose has tons of dank, hoppy goodness. Solid herbal and dank hop notes on the palate as well with just a little bit of malt sweetness. Full bodied with a long finish. Definitely one of the better IIPAs to come out of Virginia. I’m pleasantly surprised and will definitely be keeping an eye on these guys.

My hat is off to Three Brothers Brewing!!! Not your typical east coast type of IPA. This beer is has a very citrus aroma. It has a intense hop front-end taste with a strong malty backbone. All in all, this may be my favorite beer EVER!
