2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. After a very frustrating 20 mins trying to work out why my laptop wasn’t picking up the wifi signal in the pub (my home connection software was interfering with it, so I had to disable it and reboot - arse). Brown/gold colour clear and attractive with a lasting beige thickish head. Malty aroma with some honey. It’s ok. A bit too malty and the honey makes the finish pretty sweet for a bitter. Fine, a bit soapy on the hops. OK though.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask, half pint at JDWs Manchester & County. Tiny layer leaving spotty lacing behind. Clear amber coloured body. Resin-like aroma. Malt-fruity taste with peaches, marmalade, caramel and distant notes of honey. Fine bittersweet finish. Quite well bodied. A good one after the long journey from Tromsø to Manchester, 21.01.2013.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Reddish brown with a small white head. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of honeycomb waxiness. I really didn’t like the taste at all. There was a suggestion of staleness and cleaning fluid. Some bitterness.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cask conditioned at far from the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Gold brown with thin head. Tasted like a Greene King beer, the tea like floral hop note that I dislike, this was flat and really not too good. Disappointing.

A Mes rate: gravicask at Battersea Beer Festival
Clean bright golden brown with a thin off white head and very good condition. Lots of sweet fruity malt, clear honey in the flavour. Chewy malt finish. So so.
