A full bodied dark beer with malt, fruit & chocolate in the aroma with hints of roast coffee & liquorice flavours leaving a long bittersweet aftertaste.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. An oily, quite clear beer, brown in color, and with a small, off-white head. Slightly sour aroma with a good dash of dark chocolate. Some berries-like sourness, and a fruity touch. Dried fruits too. It’s full-bodied and slightly warming, with flavors of dark chocolate, roasted malts, sour dark berries and some dried fruits. Rather dry and tart. Dry, bitter finish with some chocolate. Whether the sourness is intended or not I don’t know, but it was quite nice and suited the beer well. 100814

50cl bottle from Dr.Ink of Fulham. Pours a dirty brown with a ring of coffee head; the powerful, pungent, aroma has strong coffee, bitter chocoalte and ripe red fruit; rather thin in the mouth to start but then thickening and releasing a mixture of flavours - raisins, coffee, damsons; before a dry finish where the alcohol makes its presence known without being too obvious about it. A really tasty ale.

Bottle 500ml. @ The Danish Summer Gathering, TTODRBSG10 - Ulfborg.

Clear medium dark amber brown color with a small, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark berry, raisin. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, tobacco, lacto. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Maybe beer was infected but it did work for me ;O) [20100814]

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a dark orangey brown with a small and rough off-white head. The nose has some roast and dark dried fruits - and a whiff of acetic acid. Medium body, rather low in carbonation, hard roast malts, again dark fruits with a dry finish. There’s a lingering tartness that indicates infection, but it doesn’t spoil the beer. 130810
