COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Now this is a saison! This refreshing Belgian-style ale is the combined effort of Three Floyds and De Molen’s fantastic brewer Menno (the real Dutch Hercules). This spicy and bracing ale was brewed in Munster, but look out for the one we brew in Holland at DeMolen. Cheers and drost!

Maybe the best saison I have had, but one for a hop lover for sure (go figure, it is from 3 Floyds). Aroma is complex, not just hoppy and citrusy, but earthy tones with some bananaish type notes. Very different. Palate is thick and full finishing dry. Flavor is sweet and lasting. I am pretty impressed with this one.

Murky bronze color...juicy fruit nose with an emphasis on pineapple and peaches. Nice carbonation...taste mirrors the nose with some additional herbal notes, including mint, to be noted. Fantastic brew.

draft - pours dark orange/light amber with thin off-white head. Nose is yeasty and hoppy (borderline pee). Pretty tasty but not what I would call a saison except for the wheat/yeast presence. Hides the 8.5% well.

22oz bottle. Small beige head, cloudy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, blood orange, light grapefruit, pepper, mint. Taste is moderately sweet, blood orange, grapefruit, some pepper, light wood, faint alcohol. Medium body, some resin, chewiness.

Picked up a 22oz bottle from FFF brewery and poured into a stemmed wine glass. Slightly hazy golden amber in color with white frothy head. The aroma is dominated by fruity citrus hops and some green apple. The palate is sweet and malty, but not clawing. Overall the beer is sweet, citrusy and tart, but an increased carbonation level would help to cut some of the acidity.

Pours hazy peach, milky, wispy off white head. Nose is distinct 3F yeast, fruity tangerines, overt hop presence with some herbal overtones. Flavors of mango, spicy herbal and sweet bread malts, yeast, mild hop bitterness. Slightly thin finish and some alcohol heat on the finish. An interesting 3F take on a Saison. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I was not sure how to approach a saison from Three Floyd’s. My memory of Rabid Rabbit still lingers as a bit of a mess. Obviously this recipe worked out much better. If bottles make it to the central part of the state I may have to grab another one.

Aroma / Appearance - The hazy orange base looks like orange marmalade. An ivory head rests on top timidly. Sweet apples, pears, and yeast stick out though lacking is that trademark over the top hops profile. Instead this one is more subdued though still evident.

Flavor / Palate - Apple skins, cotton candy, and an earthy hay base meld to form an experience that is well planned. The texture hangs in the back of the throat where the hops emerge strongest. I would love to try the De Molen version if it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Dark cloudy honey color. Huge head with the aroma of a barnyard. Thick mouth. Taste is very malty. Some bitterness and grapefruit in the finish. Pretty easy drinking.

On tap at Local Option Pours a gorgeous glowing orange with a light haziness whispering through it. Grapefruit, tangerine in the nose with a nice spicy hoppiness. Creamy mouthfeel, zesty fruit in the flavor pops nicely and is complimented by more spicy hops and a sweet maltiness. Tangy dry finish. Tasty saison that drinks like an IPA.
