Pours a dark, rich, opaque amber with a piney, fresh smell and slightly vegetal with a bright sweetness. Taste is lightly sweet and fairly hoppy with a certain richness but dullness to the flavor too in the middle. Finish is hoppy, but without lasting bitterness and it fades quickly. Interesting.

Clear amber color with a beige head that had good retention and lacing. Smell is of pine and citrus hops, sweet caramel, and maple. Fresh citrus hops (like fresh out of a hop bag) at the beginning, with pineapple and then caramel malt coming through in the finish. Medium bodied and medium carbonation.

OSLO and Guerde’s Memorial Weekend Tasting, 5/23/08. Courtesy of ElGaucho. Dark copper color with a thin head. Big and strong aroma of orange, pine and grapefruit hops. Monster bitterness upfront in the taste. Lots of orange and pine. Kind of grassy. Yum!

No clue what happened to my old rating for this, oh well. Poured amber with a thin off white head. Aroma was the familiar three floyd hop profile. Pine tar and citrus. Flavor was that, some caramel, dried fruits, and a bit of wheat. Finishes smooth, slightly bitter, a touch of dryness.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2008 Shared by ElGaucho and sampled at OSLO/Guerde’s Memorial Day Weekend tasting. From a 22-oz bomber pours a reddish copper amber brew with a thin creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin head and some spotty lacing. Aroma of over-powering citrus and piney hops character with some background scents of multi-grain malt, dark pitted fruits, caramel, grapefruit and a touch of honey. Taste is medium body, lightly carbonated with flavors of caramel malt, grapefruit zest, dark pitted fruits and some honey. Finish is slightly dry, some retaining hop character that lingers after the finish.

Bottle @ Kolding Bryglaug Americans tasting.
Bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours copper-red with a fine, small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is very hoppy, some strawberries and grapefruit. Good malty base as well. Super creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is wonderfully balanced, caramel, strawberries again, maltiness and wheat. Super warming and hoppy finish. Wonderful.

Bottle… MBSBF’08 This beer rocks!… Clear copper ale with a mid-sized, off-white head. Fantastic retention. Resiny, earthy nose. Full-bodied with a dry mouthfeel and lively carbonation.. Sweet, but bitter as well. Caramel and grapefruit rind. Lengthy, bittersweet (more bitter than sweet), drying finish. Wheat wine should have its own style category.

smells sweet and has that three floyds house character....I don’t get alot of wheat character...quite a bit of sweetness and honestly I think it tastes quite a bit like the behemoth but a little less sweet....

Deep red amber body with a lasting off white / yellow head, some sparkle; Amazing flowery and sugary ripe fruit nose, it could be deeper but is so very welcoming the way it is; The body is a little to simple, very plain bitter dry with only a very little sweetness to give some competition; Medium long very bitter dry finish, not the same flowery hop aromas, but more pine like. Actually very, very drinkable for what it is.

This thing is balanced. Biscuit, caramel, spice, lemon, pine aroma. Much the same in taste. Excellent mouthfeel, thick, but still nicely drinkable. I love this beer.
