Bottle courtesy of bdigi66 and thanks for sharing! Small fizzy tan head that mostly diminished with very little lacing, trnasparent, carbonation noted, and a very pretty red hue. The aroma was malt, some wheat, caramel notes, sweet, fruity, citrus hops, grapefruit, and pine. The flavor was caramel, sweet, wheat, citrus hops, grapefruit, the ABV did come through, and finished semi-dry. Tingly mouthfeel with a warming sensation and medium bodied. An excellent tasty beer, easy to drink, balanced, a joy to drink, worthy of a try, and I would partake in this beer again if it comes my way again. Yummy!

Clear amber beer with a lasting off-white head. Strong c-hop pine and citrus aroma with some toffee malty notes. Pretty dry for such a big beer, with piney hop flavour, a hint of tobacco and a finishing burn of hops and alcohol. Im slightly disappointed, having expected some wheat character and getting a slightly sub-par Bigfoot-like barleywine. All that goop in the mashing is a little wasted effort, isnt it?

Bottle. Clear orange coloured with a huge off white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of hops and pine needles. Fruity flavour of peaches, hops, pine needles and grape fruits. Hoppy finish.

Bottlle. Midium high but long lasting off-white creamy head. Clearm and beautiful dark amber body. First impression of the aroma is , not surprisingly that of hops. Secondly an unsuspected sweetness and fruityness caramel and spices. Pretty complex. Fruit caramel hops caramel is enough to disguise the high alcohol contents. Low carbonation and a long hoppy spicy sweet aftertaste makes this a great beer.

A Mes rate: Bottle at the Oi Oi Saveloy tasting at Chris Os.
Superb dark amber colour with a very good beige head. Fantastic hoppage in the aroma. Big piney and resinous with some adorable orange notes and come beautiful candy sugar. Lashings of glorious fruit, wheat and barley and the whole lot is superbly balanced. This theme carries over into the flavour and if Im honest, from what I can tell there is more Mikkeller character in here than Three Floyds. As equally balanced as the nose and with a raucous and resinous sting around the edges. To me this is more like a slightly less hoppy / more sweet double IPA than it is a barley wine. Peppery warmth from the alcohol in the finish with some good bitterness. The alcohol is actually rather polite throughout the whole performance. Glorious balance of bitter and sweet all round. Not the best from either brewer but bloody good stuff all the same.

Thick brown with a decent off white head. Smell is light and slightly nail polish like. Flavor is alcohol, malt and is a bit weird. Thin, bubbly and cottony palate. Overall, a strange beer to me.

Sampled at OSLO/Guerde Tasting thanks to El Gaucho

Copper red pour. Thin head but good lacing. Good bitterness. Reminicent of a super hopped IPA instead of barleywine or wheat wine. One of the few in this wheat wine style that Im impressed with. Not overpowering alcohol which Ive generally experienced with wheat wines.

Small sample at OSLO and Guerdes tasting on Friday, 5-23-08. Pours a hazy amber. Very hoppy aroma of celery and pine. Double IPA-like taste: pine, apricot. Tasty hops dominate the aroma and flavor. Light in the palate.

Another century celebrated with a "Mikkeller" beer, this time the collaboration with Three Floyds for rating number 10,500. A beutiful deep red beer with a medium tan head. The aroma is very sweet and malty with strong notes of caramel, but also with hints of alcohol and pine needles. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of alcohol which tickles the lips, tongue, and palate, as well as strong notes of caramel and medium notes of pine needles and lemon, leading to a very bitter finish, where finally I detect some wheat, which joins the hops for the dry finish. The alcohol just keeps on tickling my palate.
