750 ml bottle bought through Brill & Co. Pours hazy almost murky amber with a huge frothy and creamy goldenish beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is slightly sweet, fruity, floral, herbal and hoppy fresh with crackers, biscuits, caramel, grapefruit juice, oily pine, resinous wood, pineapple, dried apricots, alcohol, lychee, overripe mango, lemon balm, papaya, lemon zest, orange zest, currants and hints of lemon curd. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, fruity and herbal with crackers, biscuits, pineapple, grapefruit juice, mango, papaya, lemon zest, orange zest, oily pine, resinous wood, dried apricots, cape gooseberries, orange peal marmalade, lemon balm, dill, alcohol and hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is soft, creamy, round, tiny dry, oily bitter, tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is bitter, fruity and herbal with crackers, biscuits, grapefruit juice, oily pine, resin, alcohol, black currants, orange zest, lemon zest, papaya, mango, cape gooseberries and hints of passion fruit. Very nice. Took me by surprise. Labeled as retired but I suspect these 750 ml bottles are a new batch. Heavy, IIPA-like and very hoppy fresh.

Bottle, at least 2 year’s old. Dark copper, white head, lasting. Delicate, fresh cream aromas with faint hop presence, a bit of madeira. Medium-full bodied, creamy texture, spicy, lingering bitterness, pretty smooth palate with a lot of alcohol in the aftertaste. A bit past its prime, but I can see the potential!

Bottle, 2 y.o. Pours darkened orange. Surprisingly nice and full frothy head, very unexpected appearance as for barley/wheat wine. Aroma is dominated by hops, predominantly citrus, floral and earthy notes. Taste is sweet with caramel malty tones in background and most likely, citrus and floral notes up front. It is very drinkable with nice bittereness, an alcohol is hidden but hits head very quickly. Generally very good beer and enjoyable but with low malt and high hops in the aroma&taste it is more of US and less of classical Euro style. I must admit I expected something more unique.

Bra tryck i munnen. Alkoholstyrkan värmer snarare än känns frän.

@Basunen 14-11-01: en mycket trevligt doft av citrus toner. Smaken är mycket len och balanserad med trevliga kryddor och fin eftersmak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Another bottle courtesy of Deuane

A - Pours murky orange with a small half finger tall off white head leaving spotty lacing down the glass.

S - Smells of rich caramel malt, earthy hops, light buscuity malt, honey, and a touch of dulled peppery spice.

T - Starts off with a nice dose of sweet caramel malt quickly giving way to a mix of earthy hops, toffee, peppery spice, chocolate, and the chewy wheat. Pretty damn hot still for being three years old. Finish is a bit dry with a mix of light spice and chewy wheat lingering on the pallet for some time.

M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Smooth, spicy, feel with a mix of spice and wheat lingering through the finish.

O - Not bad but for being three years old you would think the heat would die down a bit, not ramp up. Glad I got to try it but I doubt I would ever seek another one of these out.

750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.4%. Hazy brown colour, moderate but lasting off-white head. Very nice aroma of fruity and piney American hops, some sweetish malts in the background. The flavour is dangerously drinkable and even refreshing for a beer of this strength, some sweetness but no too much. And of course large amounts of American hops, fruity first, with a massive resinous bitterness in the finish.
