This pours an amber colored beer that has a good head which quickly recedes. Clean aroma of hops with just a whiff of malt behind it. The flavor has an IPA like hoppiness with just a touch of hop astringency. The finish is slightly bitter. Overall this needs just a little more maltiness to smooth out some of the little coarse edges. A bid thanks to Slikwily for sending this trade!

Hazy brown ale with a thin head. Resinous hops and citrus flatters the nose. The taste is even more intense, with hops which coats the mouth, and with creamy texture, this beer is an excellent Pale ale. Goes well with a gruyere.

Pours a light copper with a think offwhite head. Aroma is citrusy and full of hops. Pine, citrus fruits, and a hint of maltiness. This was a great pale ale. probably the best I've had.

Bottle pours a hazy amber with minor dishwater head.   Good carbonation, average lacing.   Large aroma of hops, flora, and sweet candy.   Initial taste is a bit biting, but it quickly mellows and becomes quite smooth.   Bitterness that appears at the back of the mouth vanishes quickly... very interesting.   A bit malty on the finish, with some minor hop notes.   Flavor throughout is very subdued tho.   It definately pale and has a dry finish.   Points for that, but flavor could have been a bit more assertive.   Thanks goes out to Pabobcat for the trade!

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2004 Pours a copper color with medium white head. Very floral and citrus aroma. Flavor is floral with heavy citrus hop flavor and bitterness. Malt flavor is a little underpronounced.

A slightly cloudy brown and orange beer comes out of the bottle. I won't discount for the cloudyness because it is from the yeast added for bottle conditioning. The color is quite striking. It has a wonderfully sweet floral hop aroma. There is a great citrus hop flavor that goes nicely with a cool sweetness that envelops the mouth. There is a nearly perfectly ballanced bitterness. A hint of the floral hop present in the aroma is distinguishable. This is a great beer. I'm so happy that there is good brewer in Indiana.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2004 I am re-rating this and getting rid of my old one. My palate has changed a lot in the last six months. I tried Dreadnaught and loved it. I cannot get my hands on that, but this is a regular beer avaialable where I live. Color is a relatively clear, dark orange with some head and some lacing. Lots of citrus and pine in the aroma. The flavor is orange rind with some bread and a little cinnamon. Great bitter and sweet aftertaste. Wonderful all around.

Forms a large off-white head with a dark amber appearence. Has a chewy and piney hop flavor with a clean and sweet finish. This beer could easily called Dreadnaught Light. Just an absolutelty wonderful beer!
