UPDATED: NOV 6, 2009 Orange amber color, full hop citrus aroma, hoppy grapefruit burst in your mouth with a wonderful malt hop blend aftertaste. This is the best pale ale out there and probaly one of the top 5 overall brews.

Excellently hopped, beautiful hoppy appearance and a good meal accompanyment. Grapefruit hops, green tea, some malts, some peachy melon and dark fruit taste in finish. Fresh medium clean mouthfeel. Thanks Joey Capps.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2005 Pours amber with a near-perfect creamy head. The citrusy hop aroma really doesnít do the flavor justice. Very creamy for a pale ale, with just the right malt backbone to balance the initial hop blast. The most flavorful pale ale Iíve found so far.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This one pours a nice dark red/amber color with nice sized white head. Has good head retention and leaves some lacing around the glass. Smell is dominated by the hops mainly citrus and there is some malt too it as well. The taste is all about the hops, which dominate the initial flavors. There is some malt to it and it has a nice bitter aftertaste, a very balanced taste. Has a nice think and creamy mouthfeel with a good amount of carbonation. A great pale ale that is very complex and makes for one of my favorite session beers.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is much more subtle then I expected, but plesant... Hops, dried fruit, a lot of peach I catch too. Body is an amber/brown, with a very thin head. Taste is unlike any beer Iíve had, itís real hoppy, but it lets the sweetness chyme in from time to time. With this beer you get your sweet tea, then hops, and a little bit of dark fruit.

A lot of expectation for this one! Brought from my northern brother. Very well defined aroma, almost a professional olfactory comment. Sweet hops and mild carbonation make this worth the wait. Well constructed Pale Ale!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear amber golden beer with a foamy off-white head. Orange, flower hop, nut and caramel in the fruity aroma. Bitter/flower hoppy flavor with sweet fruity notes and a long bitter finish. Dry. Nice and fresh!

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2006 Iím really excited to drink this beer right now. Iíve never been in more of a pale ale mood than I am this evening. Great looking beer. Darker and redder than most pales. Sweet grapefruit, orange, and hop aroma. Piney hop flavor. Not nearly as much grapefruit taste as I had expected. Very refreshing with just the right amount of carbonation. A quite enjoyable rotgut.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle. Huge grapefruit aroma right out of the blocks. Medium white head that lingered briefly. Very pretty orange-red and completely clear(despite the bottle fermentation). Huge grapefruit flavor. Not as bitter as I expected, but still a lip-purser for sure. Very unbalanced of course, but too much emphasis on the grapefruit. Could be better on tap? Not a real "98%er" in my book.
