3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very good, but not even close to the best I’ve had for a saturated style. Maybe circa 1999 this was ahead of its time. Now it’s just a well-balanced pale ale that does a great job of balancing the hop heavy nose with a malty body. Pours dark brown with good head and lacing. Soft carbonation, light bitter finish with some malt. Bottle thanks to bmoosey.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great APA offering from FFF. Being in NY it’s hard to come by their beers, so I’m always happy when I can get them. A subtle dankness upon first pour subsides to a more grassy and citrusy hop smell and taste. Also has hints of maybe some caramel and nuts? APA is my favorite stlye so I was overall pleased with this.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle poured into a vase-like glass. The very first whiffs are a skunky, marijuana-like smell, but this fades quickly. This is replaced with a sweet lemon and orange citrus aroma. Underneath that, there’s a heavy dose of resin, bubblegum, and pine. Later on a light, toasty bread aroma comes through. The body is a slightly hazy amber orange color topped by a soft, gelatin looking yellow-brown head. The head is big, soft, and fluffy, but slowly recedes to a sheet of light head on top. This leaves lots of lace down the glass. The taste strikes a beautiful balance between medium levels of sweet and bitter (Three Floyd’s strikes again!). The medium bodied beer has lots of active carbonation with resin-ish texture. The mouth starts out with a moderate pine and resin feel, but shortly gives way to sweet citrus and a hint of bubblegum. The sweetness becomes more prevalent as the drink warms. The finish is dry, crisp, and clean with mostly lemon and resin notes. This does linger for a bit, but it’s refreshing. After awhile, some toast and toffee notes start to come through in the finish and, more notably, in the aftertaste.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
355 mL bottle. Dark and hazy for a pale ale, but who’s keeping track? Small, sticky, beige head. The aroma is citrus (orange) and melon, and is neither sweet nor overpowering. Very appealing. The flavour hits you all over up front - the citric hops are joined by mild caramel - and seems to stick to the inside of your mouth. Bitterness is perfect. The rare APA whose flavour doesn’t fade before it’s down your throat. This one is confident in its APA-ness - not trying to be an almost IPA.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle @ home. Clear amber, big off white head, great lacing. Aroma, malty base, lots of hops, pine, citrus, grapefruit, floral, caramel. Taste, hops, pine, fruity, orange, citrus, grass, passion fruit, caramel. The bitterness doesn’t kick in at first, but then it hits you and last quite a while. Slightly oily mouth feel. Bitter aftertaste, with pine and caramel. Great pale ale.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pour a slightly hazy amber, with a frothy one-fingered size white head.
Aroma has lots of citrus, slight lemon peel, floral, grass and slight caramel. A little mellowed up front, but plenty of hoppyness from the middle and out... A little strange at first, but works fine...
The taste is pretty darn bitter, but has some sweet n’ slightly malty notes ti back it up. Medium bodied, with plenty of fizzy (almost prickling/stinging) carbonation. I’d love to see how this is super fresh... Guess I’ll have to plan a trip to Indiana...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Growler from Historic Casanova Liquors 2 days after fill. Pours a quintessential amber with large, lasting beige head that leaves excellent lacing. Appearance is near perfect. Aroma is bright with orange and other sweet citrus, with some nice malt balance. Taste is lip-smacking juicy hops and a little pine with some sweet malt balance, into a moderately bitter finish that dries out but fades quickly, encouraging you to take another drink. Malts are bready, and some sips occasionally give a slight hint of roast. Really good overall.
