Damn I like this beer. Sampled at the Map Room in Chicago. Fresh, citrus hops attack the nose luring you into the first blissful sip. Splendid malty backbone over which a blanket of hops has been scattered. Many IPA/APA’s are more bitter. None impress me as much as this.

This is on par with other pale ales. It is good but not great. Definitely not 3f best beer. Not enough hops and a little to much malt for my liking.

Carbonatation faible, corps moyen.

12 ounce bottle brought back from Indiana. Pours a dark straw collor with an adequate head that dissapates rapidly. Nose is of an IPA and not a pale ale.Tasta reminds me of a good IPA as well. This is amongst my favorite pale ales.

12 oz bottle, thanks Mr. Robbins. Aroma is perfumy, age. Pours hazy burnt orange with a medium cream-colored head with excellent retention and lace. Taste has a medium-level bitterness backed by a weird candy sweetness. I’m betting this is pretty old. Too bad 3 Floyds doesn’t date their bottles. And it’s also too bad my first 3 Floyds experience outside of collaborations was marred by old beer! I’ll give it some benefit of the doubt and not give it a completely horrible score.

Great beer a little big for a pale but none the less a wonderful pine hop aroma and great light malty biscuit flavor with great hop taste and finish.

Bottle. Amber body with medium head. Aroma has a lot of caramel with light grassy finish, tropical fruits in the background. Taste has also a lot of caramel, long lasting sweetness balanced with orange and mango bitterness. Body is full, medium carbonation.

Aroma of citrus and hops, pours a great looking caramel color with a short lasting white head well laced head. Complex taste, tastes more like an IPA a bit of bitterness up front with a taste of pineapple and grapefruit with a slightly bitter malt finish.

Bottle to lager glass. Mostly clear amber pour with a fair amount of visible carbonation and a medium, soapy head that sticks around. Citrus hops and a good bit of caramel in the aroma. Flavor is citrus hops and more caramel. Finishes dry despite the sweet backbone.

Poured from a bottle. Golden amber hue with white pillowy head and laces nicely. Bread and caramel in the malt sweetness. Big bouquet of citrus, orange marmalade, and pine in the nose. Strong assertive bitterness that softens quickly.
