bottle pours a mahogany haze with amber tendencies. the head here is subtly dense, and ever-so-slowly receding. the strong scents of thick hops are similar to that of a dense fog, and are accented by the flavorful citric aromas crossed with notes of creamy caramel slightly toasted malts. tastes? liquid perfection. i can’t state it any better. it coats the palate from the front, with bright and lively warrior hops and slight spice, to the back where the thicker mouthfeel really shines and is accented by the mild, but non-offensive bitterness and slight salt flavor. this is great. all kinds of complexity here. it’s just sad that there’s only 12 oz, and i can’t get it here.

(On tap @ Mikkeller Bar Stockholm, Feb 25 2015) Pours copper with a small dense off white head leaving lots of lace. Aroma is orange, lemon zest, fresh pine, grassy florals, faintly spicy and a little dank, TF house style for sure. Bit of a caramel backbone. Palate has a bit more caramel backbone, with pine, orange rind, lemon, herbal, a bit of white pepper from the middle on? Sweetish. Finish is dry and even softly sour with a fairly light astringent bitterness of orange peel and a spruce/cedar sort of character. A little grain. Lightish mouthfeel and average carb. A pretty good APA, but it’s definitely not as good as Zombie Dust, being a little less fruity and bright.

As a double IPA loving hop head, I usually avoid APA’s, but this pale ale is out of sight! Nice citrus nose and sweet hoppy taste; well balanced with great finish. All three of the Floyds obviously know what they are doing!

12 oz bottle. Tasted on 2/26/15. Bottle from West Lakeview Liquor. Lots of earthy pine & caramel. Taste was surprisingly mellow to me but had a great flavor overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

APA not this is an IPA...if I were to rate this on style...booo. But it is such a phenomena grass white pepper aroma kills it. Flavor is crisp and dry with a hop presence that lingers throughout. My fav

pours amber with a thick white head. nice lacing. aroma is citrus hops, caramel and orange. taste very clean and crisp. finishes nice and dry. Not at all what I was expecting but in a very good way. This thing would be even more outstanding on a hot summer day. Unfortunately is Michigan in the end of January.

12 oz. bottle bough from the Thee Floyds brewpub in Munster, IN, bottled 3 days before opening. Pours a nice orangey-amber color with a thin head that left some cool lacing patterns on the top of the beer after it dissipated. First thing on the nose is citrus, followed by a myriad of notes, mostly in the piney and fruity range. Smells amazing. Flavor is well balanced, a lot going on in the flavor profile. It starts out with citrusy and piney hops which give way to bready malt flavors on the back end. Nice to see a beer get this much hype that isn’t just a total hop bomb.
