Commercial Description:
Alpha Klaus is Alpha King’s cousin. A big American X-mas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt and Mexican sugar and of course tons of strange American hops! Cheers.

Bottle courtesy of kiefdog. Pours dark brown with a one finger tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of citrus and floral hops with chocolate, coffee, and caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good.

Bottle received as a Christmas gift from my brother in law, thanks Neil! Pour was jet black and had medium carbonation. Aroma was interesting for a porter, initial stong hop aroma with a little bit of malt. Flavor was very good, crisp toasty malts, hops, molasses, maple and a rich and smoky finish. Overall a very good FFF offering that is likely be enjoyed by most.

Courtesy of Juart. This pours an extremely dark, almost Coca Cola color. Maybe darker. A small fizzy dark tan head. Aroma is burnt sort of carbonic coffee and chocolate. A lot of bitterness and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is heavily roasted coffee beans. A nice bitterness to it. Good thick body. Another solid offering from Three Floyds.

Crushed with Jakebra. Wow hops on the nose. Not expecting that one. Chocolate and roast, with more hops. Three Floyds and hops = heaven. One sexy motherfuckin beer. Agreed with Honkeybra, as far as holiday brews go, this may the be the best around.

Bottle shared by decaturstevo. Poured black with a creamy tan head that has a thin layer lasting after it settles and left light lacing. Aroma of chocolate and coffee with a hop backing. Roast coffee in the flavor with chocolate and hits of hops. Medium body that is sweet up front and bitter in the end.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting at Dogbricks on 12/4/08. Dark dark brown with a big off-white head. Roasty aroma with plenty of malt and dark fruit. Robust flavor with lots of roast and some coffee. Tastes overly carbonated. Probably meant to be imbibed sooner than now. Flavor holds up pretty well though.
