Commercial Description:
Alpha Klaus is Alpha King’s cousin. A big American X-mas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt and Mexican sugar and of course tons of strange American hops! Cheers.

Near black pour with thin brown head. Extreme coffee flavors. Sweet bitter chocolate aroma. Sweet cocoa finish. Medium and lightly chewy body. Very enjoyable.

A Mes rate: bottle at the Harry vs Wolfman fist fight.
Standard good looking black body with a well behaved tan head. A truck full of chocolate malt in the aroma backed up with some sugary caramel and a lick of spice. Typical of a lot of big U.S. beers this seems to have aged almost instantly. The caramel is even more pronounced in the falvour along with the fruity chocolate. Good delicate notes of alcohol and some lovely peaty earth underneath. Pretty complex but not particularly harmonious. A good hit of hops in the finish finally balances things out. Good stuff but a little over rated I think.

Bottle at the Angry Fist of Santa tasting at Chris_o’s. Thanks Harry. Black, dark ruby edges. Thin tan head. Lovely choc, good hop. Slipped down really well. Smooth and utterly drinkable.

22 oz. bottle picked up from Party Liquors (Steger, IL). Pours an opaque black pour with a large billowy cocoa colored head. Aromas a little lighter than expected, chocolate sweetness and a touch of coffee mainly. Taste starts initially with these same flavors, balanced with a very assertive hoppy bitterness in the end and finish. Sweet chocolate malt and coffee with a very good hoppy feel is different but extremely enjoyable, and it works. I love the Porter concept and was happy to see the FFF version. Cheers!

Bomber poured aclear dark brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla, light spice and a hint of coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of cocoa, vanilla, carmel and light coffee with a smooth moderatly bitter malty finish.

Bottle at chris_o’s pre beerexposed tasting. Alround rating: Roasty bitter porter, citrus, lemon. Not really my style, but drinkable enough.

Bottle thanks to zathrus13. Pours with a large, light brown, creamy tight head with a black or extremely cloudy dark brown body, with awesome lacing and good retention. Aroma has nice alcohol, creamy chocolate, light coffee grounds and some ripe fruits. Taste is chocolaty and toasty with roasty coffee notes, slightly flowery and fruity aswell (similar to Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter). Mouthfeel is lightly creamy with somewhat lively carbonation. Some light coconut flavor appears when it warms, well hopped. Very smooth taste, which is better than the harsh coffee grounds of a normal porter, but not quite as decadent as the other Imperial porters I have had (Black Butte XX and Decadence 2007).
