Alpha Klaus is Alpha King’s cousin. A big American X-mas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt and Mexican sugar and of course tons of strange American hops! Cheers.

Beer pours dark brown with a small off-white head, light lacing. Nose of roasted coffee, chocolate, and smoke (?hickory?). Taste is also of roasted coffee, chocolate, and light hops. Good amount of carbonation. Medium bodied. Better than most porters. A good brew from 3F.

2006 Bottle. Deep brown to black in color the beer poured a 1/2" brown head with small tight bubbles that left some nice lacing. Sweet malt, piney hops, campfire smoke and chocolate ice cream that was all very balanced. Medium body and light on its feet with very good concentration of flavor in the midpalate. The flavors from the nose continue along with some roasted expresso. This is not a thick, heavy porter rather one of wonderful balance and lightness though full of flavor.

[836-20071115] 1pt6floz (w/ DuctTape, jerc). Bitter roasted coffee malt aroma. Dark brown black body with a long-lasting creamy light brown head and some lacing. Roasted coffee malt continues in the flavour along with a background of chocolate and grainy hops. Full body is a bit rough. Nice, well-balanced and tarty.
Description overheard: "Bounce-bounce, squeak-squeak, clunk!"

Black pour with a small brown head.Coffee, chocolate and raspberry aromas. Flavor is mostly coffee with hints chocolate and smoke.Medium bodied. Didn’t live up to all the hype.

Dec 2005 - Just an okay porter for me. Pour was nice, with some head and lacing. Aroma and flavor was chocolate and piney hops...one of the hoppier porters I’ve had, but not bad. Just "meh" and considering the 22 oz bottle was more expensive than uranium, just not worth it.

I just love the way a good porter looks in a glass. This one was very good, coffee flavors and some maltyness. Nice clean finish.

Pretty impressive. Pours a dark chocolate color with a think syrup like body. Head is brown and yeast like. Smells of coffee and roasted malt. Tastes the same but with sugar and syrup. Really nice brew.

Bomber. Pours black with tan head. Smells of burnt malt adn chocolate. Taste is bittr, burn malts and chocolate. Mouthfeel is thin. This is an awesome robust porter. Not as good as last year but still a great brew.
