tbag5557 (14), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Nov 2, 2007 Nice, refreshing, yet satisfying porter. A gift giving nose, along with a slight warm and fuzzy feeling upon completion. Not quite a Kung Fu, but a solid Marble Madness for NES freaks. bitbucket (2026), Kirkland, Washington, USA Oct 27, 2007 Bomber courtesy after4ever. Pours hazy blackish brown with a thick and lacy tan head. Aroma tending to chocolate, with some coffee along for company. Sweet full roasty taste. Espresso, pine and burnt toast finish. A rather STOUT porter. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Oct 27, 2007 22. Thanks, Sprinkle! Black. Thick, sudsy, rocky burnt tan head. Big roast and chocolate nose. Thick, chewy body with plenty of carb. Acres of sweet and roasty notes on the mid-palate: thick and grainy, complex satisfying. Long bitter char finish. Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 19, 2007 Updated: Mar 12, 2008In short: Excellent highly roasted stout/porter
How: Mtl-crew beer-and-spagatt tasting. Bottle from me acquired through dmac621. Thanks a lot Dave.
The look: Brown-black body with a small tan head.
In long: Dryness reaches your nose before your lips can touch the beer. This is indeed a very roasted stout/porter bordering ashes. A light smoke impression may be simply due to the high roastiness level. Some roasted black chocolate flavour if that means anything. Then comes the cool twist. Citrusy/grapefuity hops with a nice juicy bitterness. The mix of both worlds really work here. Overall very dry. That’s a bold and true Chrismas Porter, not like those politically correct Holliday Season Porters. BigBang (210), Indiana, USA Oct 6, 2007 Updated: Aug 15, 2008Really nice blend of chocolate, coffee, citrus and other flavors. Carbonation was just right and very nice on the palate. Excellent! dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 30, 2007 A nice rich chocolaty hoppy aroma. Flavor is also characteried with a nice rich chocolate flavor. Hop finishb and doesn’t come off very thick or thin. Quite nice. merlin48 (509), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA Sep 24, 2007 Dark brown body with a light brown head. Nutty chocolate and grapefruit aroma. Rich, almost full bodied. Bitter, roasted malts mingle with citrusy grapefruit hops. Plenty of nutty chocolate. An excellent porter with a substantial hops presence. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Updated: Jan 17, 2009
