Commercial Description:
Alpha Klaus is Alpha King’s cousin. A big American X-mas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt and Mexican sugar and of course tons of strange American hops! Cheers.

Courtesy boboski. Black with a large, frothy, rocky, light brown head. Leaves a few rings of lacing. Nose is roasty chocolate and subtle hops. Same flavors with more hops, very bittersweet, more bitter than sweet. Dry finish. Medium body, balanced. Very drinkable. Good, but not great.

22oz Bomber A hoppy porter and very much characteristic of the FFF style. I think there was a good balance of the flowery hops and malty porterlike qualities. You can smell the hops immediately along with the coffee and malt nose. Good mouthfeel and will have this one again.

Strong hoppy aroma. Dark chocolate like bitter flavor with citrus and cream cheese notes. Rather thin mouthfeel. Nice.

22 oz bottle. Almost black with a big, foamy tan head. Chunks of lace. Bittersweet chocolate, coffee, leather and molasses. Quite fizzy with more chocolate and coffee. Hops come through a bit in the finish. Very balanced for such a rich brew. Yum!

2006 bomber. Black with a whopper of a brown head. The head disintegrates rockily, making for a very pretty beer. Big bitter chocolate and coffee nose, a bit roasty, some citrusy grapefruit hop components. Big bitter chocolate and grapefruit flavors, softly malty. SAtin mouthfeel. Excellent.

Can’t believe I haven’t had this yet...Hoppy aroma with hints of coffee. Black in appearance with a thin brown head. The palate is medium to thin with flavors of coffee and cream and a slight hop taste. Not a ton of bitterness--but more of an actual hop taste. Interesting.

Pour is a deep brown with a small head. That’s the only thing small about this beer though. Aroma and flavor contain lots of hops, roasted coffee, and chocolate. Very bitter for a porter. Absolutely delicious, but too expensive.

Bottle, Thanks Sersdf. Espresso black pour with a thin beige head. Coffee, chocolate, bananas, toasted malts, hops, mellow... Roasty, bitter, flavor, some hops. Balanced, but not hugely complex. Best part of this beer is the finish, its huge, long, and bitter. Very nice beer, as all 3 Floyds are, but not my favorite.
