Commercial Description:
Alpha Klaus is Alpha King’s cousin. A big American X-mas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt and Mexican sugar and of course tons of strange American hops! Cheers.

Interesting brew. Not at all like traditional porters. Pour is nice and black, with an aroma of chocolate, coffee, and a hint of hops. Surprisingly there was alot of hops in the taste. Hops and coffee, with a strikingly bitter taste and finish. Too hoppy for a porter but good, big taste none the less. I like my porters alittle more creamy, thick and coffee flavored, but this beer certainly gets points for originality.

Hoped for more but good. A cross between alpha king IPA (one of my all time favorites) and some porter. Supper hoppy for a porter. I will never buy again because way over priced. What is far, far better than this is the blessed marriage of Alpha King IPA with Bell’s expedition stout.

Bomber, drank as Christmas Eve turned into Christmas Day. I’d been saving this for the occasion, hoping it would live up to my expectations. It most certainly did. Pours black/dark brown with a big, bubbly, dark tan head. Aroma is lots of coffee, chocolate, and more than a subtle touch of hops. The flavor is robust coffee, almost sweet warm chocolate, and a hop punch at the end. I really hated to see the last drop go.

Pitch black colour with a huge head. Lovely aroma of chocolate, roastedness and coffee. Very roasted flavour with notes of licourice and coffee ends up with a touch of dried fruit.

22oz bottle via trade poured almost black in color with a huge light brown head. The aroma was a yummy citrus hop, chocolate and roast. The taste was bitter and chocolaty with a sweet taste. Good mouthfeel, maybe a tad too hoppy for a Porter, but I like hops so this one is a winner.

Bottle. You know I really hyped myself up for this beer. Very dark with nice tan head. The aroma was of rosted malts with citrus hops shining thu. The taste was just too hoppy for a porter. Reminded my of a poor mans Gonzo.

My brother picked up a bomber of this for me in IN. Split it with Duane on Christmas Eve. Black pour with a small tan head. Piney hops and roasted malt aromas. Flavor was chocolately and roasty with a biting hop finish. Chocolate character comes out even more once it warms up a bit. Good stuff. I was glad to have it on Christmas Eve.

Deep black pour with a dense tan head. lots of coffee and chocolate in the aroma. Flavor was of fresh brewed coffee, chocolate. toffee, spice, cherries, and some hop bitterness thrown in. excellent, wish I would have saved it to have tonight (Christmas Eve)
