A dark brown color with hint of ruby light through the edges and a light foamy brown head. Creamy and smooth on the palate with loads of chocolate malts and a long lingering coffee aftertaste. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 5, 2006 Bottle from trade with kmweaver. Thanks Ken! Pours a dark amber color with an aroma of fruit, toffee and malt. Taste was little disappointing in the fact that it was sort of thin, without much character and overly carbonated. Not a bad porter just not on the same level as Bells or Duck-Rabbit. sunevdj (1770), Copenhagen OE, Denmark

Lots of malts and hops. Also flavors of coffee, oats(?) and a hint of sour wine. HEAVY bodied. Nice coffee finish. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 31, 2006 From a 22 oz. bomber bottle, Christmas 2005 release.
Poured a nice deep, black coffee with a brown foamy, fluffy head that settled into a thin bubbly lacing.
Aromas of pine, earthy and citrus hops, grainy and a subtle chocolate.
Good porter carbonation, maybe even a little high for a porter and a crisp, slick, velvety smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Tastes of burnt coffee and grain, bittersweet baking chocolate, molasses, piney and grapefruity hops, high bitterness for a porter, but actually balanced in relationship to the malts, the alcohol is well masked, but warming in the palate, and a dryish grapefruity, roasted malty finish.
This was much better than what I was expecting, held up well, makes me want to try a fresh sample, a good porter with the Three Floyds twist on the style, highly, dangerously quaffable.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2006 Dissapointing. My 4th or 5th Three Floyds beer, and I fail to see what sets them apart. This was SUPER fizzy. Almost like a soda. Actually kind of burned going down. Not much smell. Not a whole lot of flavor, but I did catch some nice roasty malts. A little chocolate in the finish. Pretty boring. alexanderj (2227), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 23, 2006 Fairly disappointing. Bottle. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Good aroma. Color was very black with a fluffy white head. Palate was good; taste was the let down. Flavors of malt, chocolate, roasted coffee, and some fruit. Good, but not great for the genre.
