sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 2, 2006 huge thanks to zeswaft for this bomber. big pretty dark brown head. kiinda uglyish foam after a while, but it’s still an easy five. smells exactly as i would hope. big hops but even bigger roasted malt, perhaps a tiny bit of sourness. porter aroma. somehow, i’m strangely reminded of the JP imperial stout... like a light-bodied imperial stout. it’s actually really good at refrigerator temperature. ridiculously good. largely roasted flavor. a bit one-dimensional, but it’s easily the best porter i’ve ever had. 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Aug 19, 2006 Pours a black color with a huge brown head. flavor is intense choco with huge malts. aroma is very nuch the same. Super great brew. Have yet to have a bad 3f beer. elektronikfagteknikerlærling (892), kbh, Denmark Aug 10, 2006 bottle. pours black with medium head. deep coffee and liqerice aroma. sweet and fresh for a porter. some dark fruits. bit carpy. bdjames29 (272), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 8, 2006 Big Bottle. Delicious. Head was out of control - mocha colored and fluffy, beautiful lacing. Thick pour for a porter, very rich. Chocolatey, a bit of apricot and hints of pine. Traditional 3F hoppy kick at the end, but so much as to upset the balance of this porter. A different and very delicious porter. I have to go ahead and rank this #1 among the porters that I have tasted. My full rec. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Jul 30, 2006 Updated: Aug 9, 2006This is a wonderful porter with lots of hop aroma and flavor. Pours a deep mahogany color with a nice tan head. A good blend of hops, roastiness, and mocha. Almost has an olive-like flavor on the tongue midway through. A slight bitterness toward the end, but not too much. A very well-balanced porter. 22 oz. bottle, $7.99. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 29, 2006 Updated: Dec 10, 2006Pours a deep dark brown with a nice lasting tan head. Aroma is actually a bit light on the hopppy side for a FFF product, but the typical citrusy, apricot, hoppiness is there along with a lot of thcik sweet chocolate malt. Light roast in the flavor accompanied by more chocolate some light caramel and toffee. Nice medium bittering hops in the end make it very smooth and easy drinking despite the high ab v for a porter. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Jul 27, 2006 via trade with hippie4beer - Pours a deep brown with a good size initial tan head which faded to a nice film. Light lacing. Has a spicey roasted malt aroma. Has a sweet roasted malt flavor with a little zing. Has a dry finish. Medium body. Very nice. Thanks Seth.
