Commercial Description:
Alpha Klaus is Alpha King’s cousin. A big American X-mas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt and Mexican sugar and of course tons of strange American hops! Cheers.

22 oz. bottle. Had a medium sweet roasted nut aroma. Black body with dark tan head. Flavor had a good mix of roasted malt, coffee, medium sweetness and a creamy feel on the finish. Smooth on the palate with a dry cigar aftertaste on palate. Good brew almost passed this one up while on a visit to Wisconsin.

Damn tasty beer. As advertised, lots and lots of hop: a FFF trademark. Nice balance, with aftertaste of very dark chocolate and hemp. Very nice.

This dark brown ale poured with a 2 finger tan head. There is a very pleasant chocolate malt aroma and a creamy and slightly carbonated mouthfeel. The malt and hops are so well-balanced that neither is dominant, and the large dosage of both results in a full and satisfying flavor. This is a very well-crafted version of the porter style.

I poured this beer into my glass for a second and it was like a rocket shooting into outer space. I mean the carbonation was 100%. I had foam all over the counter. After the foam had subsided (about 25 min. for the whole bottle), I could smell some coffee, chocolate, rye and hops. Taste of some coffee, chocolate, hops, hops and more hops. Also some malt and a nice bitterness at the end. For being almost 8 months plus, this was a very good porter when it aged. I had a bottle when it first came out and it was good but not as good as this one. Excellent!

Pours dark brown with a thick, tan head. The aroma is rich with dark chocolates, molases, figs and light citrus. The flavor is milk chocolate, brown sugar, some pine. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy.

(22 oz. bottle via trade with BBB63, thanks Mike!) Christmas in July! Pours very very dark brown, color of black coffee. Pour is 95% foam and 5% liquid. Big, tan, foamy head recedes to about 1/8". Sloppy gobs of lacing. Aroma strongly hoppy, mostly pine, also some citrus. Nose also has coffee, chocolate and hint of caramel. Mouthfeel is smooth, lightly oily, full, fairly prickly upfront. Flavor starts with the pine and citrus hops leading to wonderful rich bittersweet chocolate and coffee, finishing with the expected bitterness and black coffee roast. Touch of quick grassiness in finish as well. Pretty nice.

Opaque dark brown with brown head. Huge hop aroma. Juicy citrus. I was surprised by how powerfully the chocolate malts held up under the pressure of the heavy-handed hops. The chocolate and hops are entwined so wonderfully, I don’t care to try for any other aromas/flavors. Read other reviews. A simple premise turned out a magnificent final product.
