Aromas of roasted malts and pine hops. Burnt malts, coffee and chocolate flavors with lots of pine hops. Medium body with moderate carbonation. It’s a good beer but something about the flavor combinations doesn’t click for me. Thanks Josh. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA

Needless to say, my beer came out good! This tastes very fresh, I enjoy a fresh tasting beer. It is a bit heavy on the grapefruit, which is never good, but then so was mine. Otherwise it’s a winner. I need to make some more home brew... tennisjoel (953), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Poured from a 22 oz. Bomber. Is that the grinch on the label. Nevertheless, an interesting label. Poured into a snifter and it was filled with a large, almost obnoxious head. Typical porter aroma, but you can tell there’s also some hoppiness to this brew. An absolute joy to smell, oh wow! It’s extremely inviting. Having to wait to taste as each pour contributes a massive head, which slowly disappates. As it warms, I just can’t wait to start sipping this. Excellent porter, maybe the best I’ve tried to date. nimbleprop (951), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2008 You just never know about these Christmas beers. Bomber pours a translucent, deep, dark brown with a thin white head that fades fast. Aroma is nutty with chocolate, slight coffee with some nice, citrusy hops rounding out the aroma. Flavor had plenty of chocolate and reminded me a bit of DFH’s Chicory Stout in that way, some spicy sugar, roasted malts, nuts and a dash of biscuit. Finish was dry and a little creamy with some lasting roasted and hop bitterness. One of the better "Christmas" beers I’ve had and a very nice offering from FFF. Rockinout (946), Kent, Ohio, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 18, 2007 I’m very impressed with this beer. It is slightly hoppy and extremely roast-y without a tremendous amount of chocolate or coffee. It reminds me a great deal of Founder’s Black Rye, which I tremendously enjoy.
Color is a dark black, but is not the inky-black of imperial porters. As the beer went from bottle to glass, it appeared more of a light brown. Aroma is lightly of centennial hops, superceded by pleasing chocolate malt roastiness. Flavor is very dry and roasty, but not too cholate-y or coffee-ish. The dryness is great, and reminsicent of Founder’s Black Rye to me. Mouthfeel is almost "chalky," perhaps due to the dry character of this beer, but somehow matches the flavors I’m detecting. Quite drinkable.
I’ve been saving this beer for the right occasion where I can properly enjoy this beer, and this afternoon in front of March Madness is it. jtw (944), farmington, Michigan, USA

MASSIVE chocolate malt presence, and with it comes the typical malt and cocoa that you get in most porters. tastes like a regular porter that got an extra dose of chocolate malt and cascade hops, quite enjoyable. even a bit of spice in the finish, a warming touch that would be even more welcome in the winter. loweredsixth (943), Fresno, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2003 Very dark brown (opaque) with a thick, creamy beige head. The aroma was dominated by citrusy hops...it just kept bugging me that I couldn't get more of the malty, chocolate tones in the aroma. The flavor was more rounded with a large hops component and some great dark chocolate tones as well. Medium thick feel...very crisp...medium wet finish. I guess I'm more confused than anything else...this is one of those beers that just challenged me the whole way.
