COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Alpha Klaus is Alpha King’s cousin. A big American X-mas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt and Mexican sugar and of course tons of strange American hops! Cheers.

On Tap. Pours black with brown head. Aroma of chocolate and malts. Taste the chocolate and roasted malts you would expect from a Porter but the Hops make this a TREAT! ----Hophaze out

Bottle at the in-laws. Pour is pitch black with a frothy brown head and goo lacing. Big roast, dark chocolate, light nutmeg, vanilla, toasted bread, dark fruit, and oaky aroma. Taste is big dark chocolate, coffee, light vanilla, woody, lightly spicy, sweet vanilla, and grassy with a lightly bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel with medium-to-soft carbonation. Nice porter, but I would have really loved a thicker mouthfeel

Bomber, pours a solid black with tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt and hops. Taste is roasted chocolate and coffee balanced out nicely with some bitter hops. Solid porter.

Pours an opaque black color with a caramelized creme brűlée colored foamy head. The head forms quickly and largely. Some semblance of head lingers throughout the beer. Lacing and spider webbing coat the glass from top to bottom. Late summer mown grass, coffee, and roastiness on the nose. Moutfheel is thick and slick, but dries out a little at the finish. Perfectly balanced roasted malt and resinous hops. It fills the mouth with flavor. Grassy hop flavor blending well with large roasted malt. This is a magnificent beer with a lot of balance. I’ve missed it so much.

22 ounce bottle into signature Teku tulip; November 2012 release. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger fairly dense dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, roasted malt, grapefruit, pine, orange zest, floral, cocoa, caramel, coffee, light char, and piney spiciness. Fantastic aromas with great balance of hop and dark roasted malt notes. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, grapefruit, pine, floral, char, coffee, caramel, and roasted earthiness. Good amount of roasted pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, pine, citrus, floral, char, coffee, caramel, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic balance and complexity of very dark malty flavors with citrus/pine hops; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy, sticky, fairly crisp, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with almost zero warming noticed after the finish. I know this is labeled as a porter; but in my view, this is an absolutely fantastic Black IPA! Big balance and complexity of dark malt and citrus/pine hop flavors; and extremely smooth to sip on. An extremely awesome offering!

Poured from a large format bottle. Pours with a dense head and coffee. The flavor is of coffee, chocolate, fruity yeast and hops. Very tasty almost like an iced coffee.

Poured from bomber - pretty much black pour with an intense tan head. Aroma is pleasant, nice mixture of sweet malt and bitter hops...some chocolate, slight burnt note...good stuff. Flavor is a bit more hoppy than I anticipated (though it is FFF, so I shouldn’t be that surprised)...lots of sweet and roasted malt accents, some bitter chocolate...again, good flavor. Palate is average for the style. Good beer that I would definitely enjoy again down the road.

I love this beer!! 22oz bomber. Pours a deep brownish almost black color with nice 2 fingers of creamy off white head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, and pine. Taste is amazing! Pretty much a black ipa. Roasted malt, chocolate, slight coffee, with a nice bitter hop bite! One of my favorites!

Acquired in a trade from jaminjohnson. It poured a dark brown/black color with a medium to heavy creamy body. The aroma was of toasted malt, chocolate, cocoa and plenty of hops. The taste was of roasted sweet malt, milk chocolate, hops, coffee, some vanilla and light caramel. A very good porter.
