Draft. Pours Reddish-brown in color with a small light head. Has a strong complex aroma and taste. Starts off sweet and carmelly and finishes with a hint of alcohol.

22oz bottle. Poured a murky brown with almost no head. Aroma is of dark fruit, caramel, malt, yeast, and spice. This one seems to have mellowed immensely. It doesn’t have overpowering booze in the aroma anymore. Taste is of malt, spice, yeast, dark fruit, caramel, and of course alcohol. Thick, sticky mouthfeel. This one made me a little woozy with the alcohol content.

Hazy fiery gold, barely any head. Nose is sweet and sugary with bubble gum, honey, and alcohol. Flavor is similarly sweet with notable malt, bubble gum, and a blast of alcoholic of heat. Thin and a little sticky. Like a school bully without heart.

Clear amber color with a thin head. Boozy aroma combined with a sugary sweetness that reminds more of a mead. Flavor is yeasty and sweet with a slight alcohol burn.

Sample at the Columbus Ratebeer gathering at ogglethorp’s 11/20/08: Pours a cloudy dark orange color with a medium thin khaki head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of toffee and fruit plus some yeast. Rich body with flavors of caramel, malt and toffee punctuated by some alcohol bite and hops. The finish is syrupy with a blend of fruits and spices and a yeast and alcohol finish. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Candy sweet. Caramel, spice, light citrus hop aromas. Smells sticky-sweet. Golden red with no head. Delicious sweet up front with lots of depth, caramel and sugary flavors dominate. Good thickness. Light alcohol presence.
