COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A beer for the end of ages brewed with our friends in the band Amon Amarth. This Aesir Porter is a robust and hearty beer brewed with local honey and a small portion of smoked malt. When Heimdall sounds the Giallar-horn this is the beer to be hoisted by the gods in anticipation of the coming battle.

66 cl. bomber split with Belgbeergeek // made with local honey & touch smoked malt // dark brown with a lovely darker mocha head // smells of dark berries, mocha, sweet fruits, smooth sweet dark fruits // taste is sweet malt heavy, lightly roasted maybe even small hint of smoke, lots of berries, dark fruits, coffee with a light roast, milky chocolate, starting to get some of that smoke in the backm lightly fruity, exotic grass hops touch end, cocao, light bitterness, not really getting honey // m/m for style // good & quite solid but given price, reputation and marketing this is bit of a downer

Bottle. Pitch black color, some yeast sediments in there. Nice, lasting tanned head. Strong aroma of licorice and roast. Some alcohol in aroma. Flavor is immensely sweet, roasty and malty. This is an awesome brew, well balanced and full bodied. Epic!

Picked up a 22 oz bottle at the FFF brewpub last week when there were lots of folks waiting to get in. I hadn’t heard of this one before, but it lives up the the Three Floyds legend and does not disappoint. It pours very dark - I can’t see through it when I hold it up to my lamp. Considerable head remains for a while and laces the glass afterwards. The aroma is legendary 3 Floyds: citrus and hops with with some floral scents but with a hint of chocolate. Flavor is the same but bit with more roasted/smoky malts than any other FFF beer I’ve tried. I agree with the reviewers who call this "Dark Lord’s little cousin" or "my kind of beer". It’s subantial in body & complex taste. I’d rather have one of these $12 beers than 12 of any $1 beers I can think of.

Bottle thanks to bigmmartin. Pours a thick brown with a nice lingering tan head, chunky. Aroma is roasted malts and hops. Notes of coffee, citrus, chocolate, smoked sausage and mollasses. Palate is chewy and smooth. Flavor is hoppy in the front, bringing out coffee, finishing dry and sweet.

Bottle shared with toffsbury. Pours jet-black with little head and a lot of particles. Gorgeous hoppy aroma. Really nice hoppy taste, with some roasted malt. Nice clean finish.. Medium-bodied with low carbonation. I’ve never had such a hoppy porter; great!

Picked this up directly at the brewery. Pours dark black/ brown, good film of khaki head and loads of residual sugary lacing on the glass walls. Aroma is that Three Floyds hop smell that I get with almost every brew initially, then it gives way to this roast and caramel malt with sweet almost buttery notes as well. Tastes chocolate bitter at first, there’s roast malt again and some booziness, but its smooth and not over powering. I really enjoyed this.

Tap @ Three Floyds. Clear, dark red-brown pour with a short tan head leaving moderate lace. Pine and coffee nose. Medium, dry, finely-carbonated body. Baking chocolate, honey, resin, spruce, licorice and toffee, with a fantastic full and smooth mouth feel. Finish is sweet and chocolatey, wish it were drier as with the start. ABV is well-hidden.
