3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft on tap at the brewpub (Munster, IN). Pours a reddish deep copper hue, darker, with big fiery red sunset notes, faint light haze, but pretty transparent with a cakey beige head atop, moderate and stays that way with really nice lacing that layers beautifully. Aromas are a nice melange of floral and citrusy hops, some grass, toffee and biscuit malty sweetness, a touch of lemon rind, grapefruit, caramel, bready malts. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied with a nice mix of citrusy lemon slanted hops, toffee and biscuits, some nice bitter florals. Very well balanced, a nice heavier hopped Red or Amber, with still a nice upcoming malty biscuit and toffee sweetness underneath. Nice hopped ale, lively lemon and biscuits.. Balanced well and easily quaffed. Change of pace from the Floyds.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap: Poured a deep coppery hue with a nice frothy head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of tropical and citric fruits, some dank and herbal vapours, a bit of bready and caramel malts with a hit of pepper and allspice. The taste is moderately bitter and quite fruity with lots of mango and tangerine at first followed by white wine and some pineapple. The malt is pretty much just there as a minimalist supporting act. The finish is lightly hop spiced and a bit minerally. The mouth feel is sprite and refreshing. Overall a very nice brew that turned out much better than my homebrew using all NZ hops. A very hoppy Amber Ale if I do say so... aka it is really an IPA or at least a NZPA.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2010 Tap at fff. Pours a dark copper red hue with a small frothy dirty white head. Aroma is quite floral with some awesome tangerine, orangepeel, and twangy, fruity, almost blueberry component. Leavin some sweet lace on the glass. Taste is more pine, grapefruit citrus forward with a hint of toasty caramel as an afterthought. Nice and dry. Crisp and clean. Well crafted for sure. Awesome, unique, thirst quenching beer that I wish more people could try, especially as fresh as this bad boy is. Would drink again.

I am the wrong guy to be giving this the first rating. On tap at fff. Nicely hopped. Beat citrus finish. Loved it
