22oz. bomber, with thanks to tjthresh and theisti. Pours a hazy orange golden with a lasting super creamy off-white head. Aroma is nicely floral, with light citrus, and a definite note of the lactose present as well amongst a hint of a caramel malt background. Flavor is more floral, citrus, and lactose, with a little more caramel mixed in. This one is definitely interesting and unique, thanks again to both Tom and Tim!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sparky (2130) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUL 14, 2009
Bomber courtesy of StFun – you da man Josh! Pours cloudy medium amber with a one finger beige head that leaves delicate lacing. The nose is sweet caramel, floral hops and rip citrus. The taste is caramel malt, overripe citrus and a big resin finish that lingers on the tongue for quite awhile. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Good IIPA, though a tad bit too sweet upfront. The pine cleans it up nicely. Thanks Josh!

Bomber. Lots of aromas and flavors in this complex, nicely balanced double IPA. Medium amber cloudy body with an off-white, diminishing head. Strong hop aroma of orange, grapefruit, mango, peach with notes of husky grain. Very juicy. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Bone dry, too. Nice bitter aftertaste on top of a sweet orange juice/pineapple taste. Medium to full body with a velvety texture and moderate carbonation. Nice warming from the alcohol, but otherwise, it’s hard to detect. As nice as this is, it lacks the zip and drive of Dreadnaught. I was highly impressed with the first glass, but the second started to wear on me, especially the velvety, almost artificial sweetness. I wouldn’t hesitate drinking it again, though.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Bigmmartin (603) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - JUL 13, 2009
Upon taking the first sip I said out loud, "what a weird ass beer." And it is, but it in an interesting way. I wasn’t too sure at first but it definitely grew on me as I finished the bottle. Creamy, malty, fruity, hoppy, slightly boozy. Not the best imperial ipa out there, but one of the more interesting. I really enjoyed this one.

Bottle. Very interesting beer. Pours a orangish color wtih a big light head. Aroma is full of citrus(orange) and lots of sweet caramel notes. Flavor is interesting and body is really creamy. Hops are noticeable but with more orange flavor than usual and the body is beefed up with the lactose. I liked it quite a bit.

2009 Bottle - Thanks shawnm213 & NobleSquirrel! - Pours cloudy ornage with a large, lasting off white head...aroma is massive citrus and floral hops, sticky malt...flavour is as expected up front, intense hop presence, and is quickly followed by a sticky, cloying malty presence...creamy on the end, well hidden alcohol, quite interesting...

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kuphish (378) - Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA - JUL 6, 2009
Bomber. Pours a creamy, off-white head - 1.5 finger width. Amber body - clear and bubbly. Big time hop aroma - like I climbed a vine of cascade, washed my hands with centennial, and then stuck my face in a bag of amarillo. Usually I’m put off by an overabundance of hop aroma, but in this beer it’s seductive. Hop aroma (citrus, grapefruit, floral, pine) dominates any malt aroma, but I’m ok with it here. Flavor is a combination of caramel malts and lactose sweetness wiped away by aggressive hop bitterness. Medium body with somewhat lively carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden. A bit too resinous for my preference, but I guess that’s the price one pays for such a lovely aroma. Overall a confusing, somewhat weird beer, but delicious. A little rough around the edges, but promising.
