This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” Cheers! 100 IBU 11.0%ABV (used to be 9.5%)

Glowing orange head. 1 finger head. Lacing. Lots of tropical fruit. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Sticky. The abv is pretty well hidden. Very drinkable. Nice hoppy subtle alcohol burn on the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

on tap @ Cock and Bull / Covington KY --- Hazy light golden amber, solid head cover, curtain of lace. Taste is edgy malt that grows into caramel and spice in the palate, adding pepper and bitter carbonation for a very long warm alcohol finish. Thick and chewy, full-bodied, a solid big brew.

Bomber bottle poured and shared. Golden amber appearance with thick head. Slight bitterness with a hint of sweetness from the lactose, but mostly citra taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours hazy, medium golden, lots of bubbles streaming up, two finger dense, creamy off white head. Aroma citrus, floral, fresh bread malt. Taste dank citrus, floral hops, sweet bready malt, hint of burnt sugar and alcohol, bitterness is definetly there, but smooth and well balanced by big malt bill. Mouthfeel thicker side of medium body, mid-high carbonation, hop and alcohol bite, dryish finish. Overall excellent beer, extremely well made, complex, bitter yet balanced, if it can be had, get it.

On tap at the Daily Growler in Powell. Murky deep orange pour with slight white head. Aroma of floral, citrus hops. Tastes are well rounded caramel malt and peachy citrus. Finishes with a bit of an odd floral, medicine bitter. Texture is nice chewy medium. Very good, but high standards here - something there that kept it from being great for me. 7.6

Bottle from Binny’s. Pours a pretty golden orange, healthy white head. Some semi-stale citrus in the nose, sweet honey, pine resin. Quick pine hop attack with a big sweet body, moves to some sweet booze then finishes with a bitter citrus hop. Med body, quite sweet, some booze & average carbonation. Good stuff.

Cloudy orange with plenty of sediment hanging in the liquid. Smells hoppy and slightly creamy. Tastes strongly floral with some citrus peel and orange juice up front, followed by a very smooth, "round" aftertaste. Fizzy palate. Lingering flavors of pine and some caramel. Good. A little safer than I would have expected.
