4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bomber. Came into this not having the slightest idea as to what to expect, but I am intrigued. Pours an opaque copper color with very little head. Smells of citrus, hops (typical IPA smells), plus the most unusual sweet cream sugary smell. Quite interesting. In tasting it, the first thing you notice is that it is THICK. It reminded me of the consistency of milk. Flavors of citrus and sweet cream flood your mouth, with a nice hop bite to it. Highly recommended, especially if you are looking for something completely different.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Gotten in a trade as part of BIF Race í09, this double IPA poured clear bodied, had a glowing orange color, and displayed lively carbonation and formed a small but stable head. The aroma of this beer was the most earthy-floral hop smell Iíve ever experienced, The floral quality was further enhanced by the honey like swell of the malt. The taste was sweet-spicy, and was propelled by hops, just as any good DIPA should be. The beer was creamy in the mouth, with the carbonation assisting in this department big time. A spicy aftertaste and warm burn finished things off. Many thanks for BA alleykatking for the opportunity to try this.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From bomber...pours deep orange/golden color with a 1/2 finger off-white head. Aroma is incredibly citrusy and bursting with orange and lemon aromas. Also has a yeasty/bready and bitter aroma in the background. Flavor is pretty darn good...a creamy mix of malt, citrus hops (again, oranges abound), resiny hops and yeast. Milky and creamy on the palate, yet strongly bitter near the end. I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would...not super clean, but very bold and smooth.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Dark orange color with a smaller off-white head. Big aromas of orange and grapefruit. Hints of milk caramel and dough. Flavors of sharp citrus and pith. Malt sneaks in with a dextrose sweetness. Resin in the middle sharpens the feel and flavor. Even with the sharpness, the brew is rather sticky. Big and assertive. If I had more than the snifter, I think it would rated lower. A whole bomber would be difficult to quaff.

1.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
An extravagant thanks goes out to beerman6686 Dan for this special brew! Had the pleasure of sampling this at the 7/9/2009 Pittsburgh RB tasting extravaganza (PGHRBEXT) at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse. It will be a long time, if ever I see a spread of bottles like I did there. I am not good enough for the beers that were that we served! For example, how about this beer: appocolypse cow! Some hop aroma, just mildy. Cloudy pale color. Triple hop impact greets the tongue followed by a tad of lactose sweetness. Way too hoppy for this lager lover but a welcomed beer tasting experience. Hey, at least I can say I tried it. Bitter long hop medicinal over the top finish. Not too much to say except this stuff is on style. If there is any carbonation in there, I canít detect it because of the shock to my taste buds. Rototilling across the surface of my tongue is this mouth coating liquid. Just rate em as how I like em, Iím not expert enough to rate by style. Go get em cowboy! Thanks Dan for a chance to try this rude crude awfully on style bitter hoppy drink! Now my taste buds are ruined for the rest of the beers! WEW

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This one poured a a light orange color with a white head. Aroma was the nice strong Three Cís hops three floyds aroma, but with a very interesting milky sweetness as well from the lactose sugar. Flavor was huge upfront hops, nice with citrus and pine notes with a sweet sugary finish melding with the lingering bitterness as well.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2009 Not normal but wonderfully so. Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a viscous murky apricot color with a small white head that lingered. The aroma was full and strong with sweet pine and fruity hops. The flavor was tangy, sweet, bitter and full of piney and fruity hops. The finish was long, tangy, fruity and sourish with a thick and full mouthfeel and sweet hoppy residuals that would not leave. Excellent.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had this one at the RB Pittsburgh tasting. This has no business working, but by dammit, it totally does. Very hoppy with that distinct FFF scent. Good, odd, but GOOD taste, which is exactly what you expect from a DIPA with lactose, except...good.

Bottle via trade. Aroma is sweet malt, light fruits, and citrus hops. Flavor is sweet malt, honey, and orangey/pineappley hops. Fairly viscous and smooth on the palate. Really good overall.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Aroma predominantly of various juicy citrus notes. Flavor lusciously bitter up front before the sweet malt/lactose kicks in, balancing it, but still allowing the big IBU to shine through. However, despite not covering up the IBU (thankfully), the sugar did become wearing for me as I made my way through the glass to the point I really didnít care about the hoppy goodness anymore, I just didnít want the sugar. Very good at first, but didnít hold up for me.
