COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” Cheers! 100 IBU 11.0%ABV (used to be 9.5%)

Pours a huge dense slightly off-white head that leaves abundant lacing with a somewhat clear amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet with orange, grapefruit, papaya and some pine. Flavor is moderately sweet, heavy bitter with undertones of orange, light grapefruit and pine. Medium to full body, very sticky texture.

Look: pours a hazy light orange. Off white head. Smell: sweet citrus fruit. Sweet almost sugary aroma. Tangerine. Lemon. Tropical fruit. Passion fruit. Grapefruit. Taste: tangerine. Bitterness up front. Lemon. Slight pine. Grapefruit. Feel: slightly dry. Leaves a film on the mouth. Medium carbonation. Overall: great beer. Love the aroma. Nice mix of bitterness and fruit. First drank: home 8/24/14

Bottle, thanks to Santa. Pours hazy pale / light amber with white head. Aroma: so much caramel. Herbal hops, citrus, earth and soap. Sweet aroma. Taste: Orange-creamsicle. Lavender lends a bathroom soap character to it. Moderate sweetness and moderate bitterness, but overall flavor lingers. Full body, creamy, almost sticky texture, with soft carbonation. Overall: This works pretty well as a sweet, hoppy barley wine. But they market it as a "not normal" double IPA. The thing is, a double IPA that’s this sweet and sticky is usually just ... a not good double IPA. So to say you made this "not normal" double IPA intentionally this way doesn’t really do you any favors in my book.

Flaske, 65 cl.

Pours a hazy orangey golden. Nose is candy sugar, citrus, oranges, floral hops, lemon, herbal/minty, bready malt. Taste is hops, sweet candy sugar, some bready malt backbone, sweet orange citrus, candied orange peel, a bitter hop strange aftertaste lingers forever. The lactose sugar may be the oddity that is there on the finish. Creamy full mouthfeel, 11 percent hidden well. It pretty much tastes like a very hoppy DIPA, nose and mouthfeel are very good , taste leaves a bit to be desired. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy golden/orange color with a deep white head. The initial taste here comes off as slightly off milk. As you get into it this heavily hopped DIPA opens up with further complexities. Lactose element gives this a creamy and smooth mouthfeel. Almost like a cask ale. A good beer - one worth seeking out once a year

draft sampler that poured a darkish y ellow orange color with white head. nice floral nose of hops and a thickness of malt. the flavor was almost thick and chewy with malt thought it a bit strange but still tasted good and then you get a solid boost of hops throughout. nice and flavorful.

Tap @ mikkeller. Aroma is Big and fat! Lots of ripe fruits, peach, apricot, mandarin and resin. Also some big sticky hops, malty backbone, bread crust and just booming dipa! Taste of fresh bitter hops, big sweet ripe citrus fruits, caramel malts, bread crust, resin and sticky dipaness! 11% is bit noticeable .

Tap at mikkeller original. Pours Dark, cloudy amber with a dense, off White head. Aroma has lots of sweet caramel malts, fresh hops, grains, alcohol, and is slightly earthy. Taste has first of all sweet caramel malt, which is taken over by a huge load of tropical hops, and a gentle bitterness. The fruit contains ripe pear, ripe peach and is just really fruity in general. Much better taste than aroma imo. Rather fresh Body for it's abv, though it obviously isn't a single ipa. Med. Carb ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
