This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” Cheers! 100 IBU 11.0%ABV (used to be 9.5%)

It is surprising to find an 11% ABV beer that doesn’t show its alcohol, but this one doesn’t until it hits the stomach. Beer pours mostly clear golden color with an egg white head that is retained and produces heavy lacing. Aroma is hop forward with notes of citrus and pine and grass. Taste is bitter and finishes sweet , but not too sweet like some Double IPAs. Quite an enjoyable beer. Too bad Three Floyd’s is 1000 miles from home :(

Aroma is pine, citrus/fruit and malts. The flavor is citrus, pine needles, malts, milk smoothness and a bitter/tangy finish.

Bouteille 660ml, gracieuseté de msjpearson, Thanks Mike! Couleur orange trouble, mousse beige pâle laissant une dentelle baveuse. Arôme de houblon résineux, malt, pamplemousse, un peu poussiéreux, alcool. Goût de houblon résineux, touche florale, malt, bonne amertume, côté lactique, sucré, agrumes, l’alcool est habilement camouflé. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen-dense.

Bomber gift from kaser. Slightly hazy dark yellowish color but an aroma that is evident as soon as you open the bottle. Very easy drinking DIPA.

From bomber. Pours a golden color with medium head. Aromas of vanilla, pine nuts, and subtle fruit. Flavor absolutely explodes with demerara sugars, tropical fruits, and earthy. Just incredible. A+++++

Very floral and creamy body, showing crisp melon and grapefruit and an underbelly of chalky mineral flavors. Not quite up to the level of the Dreadnaught or Permanent Funeral in terms of either fruit or hop balance, but well done nonetheless.

Bottle. Pours an opaque apricot color with a modest white head. Aromas of cirtus, grapefruit, a malt sweetness, slight alcohol after it warms. Taste is moderately sweet with ample fruity hops up front; a slight bitterness creeps in towards the finish. Certainly not a bitter dipa. The alcohol is undetectable in the taste. A bit sweet for my tastes; makes it come across as a bit sticky.

22 oz bottle shared at Pinsky’s, 6/26/15. It has a nice tropical hop aroma with some floral notes as well. Cloudy pour with a nice head/lace. Nice flavor as well. Fruity and hoppy. You get a nice, clean, and smooth feel, which seems to be the intended product from the lactose. Rather enjoyable.

Pour from bomber to snifter. Hazy gold pour with delicate yet still nice head retention. Bright and deep citrus aroma, sharp floral with a sticky resiny pine, light boozy scent. Flavor starts off smooth and chewy-sweet with some pine, and rises to a huge floral bitter burst, lemony Amarillo coming through on the palate noticeably. Low carbonation, booze not too present in flavor. Allegedly this 2015 batch being 11% abv, hidden skillfully. Smooth, sticky, no shortage of flavor. Nice.

On tap at the Pearl Street Pizzeria and Pub in Indianapolis. Yellow orange with small white head. Aroma and taste of citrus and floral hops with a significant but not overpowering malt caramel backbone.
