Part of an IPA tasting, full pour. Orange/amber with tall fizzy head. Lots of fruit in the nose - tropical, stone. Really nice. Taste brings in some resin/spruce notes with lots of aforementioned fruit. Tangerine and pineapple stand out a bit. A sweet/slight bitter finish. Nice.

Pours a clear darker golden color with white head. Pine, citrus, resin, some floral notes, and a little grass on the nose; follows onto the palate. Hop bomb here, finishes with bite.

Pours deep gold into a snifter. White pancake head with excellent retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Caramel, resin and pine aromas. Sweet caramel and toffee upfront turning to bitter pine before the lasting earthy resin finish.

Saeglopur (326) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - JUN 14, 2014
Draught at Tap House Munich. Deep orange, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, white head. Great tropical fruit aroma of grapefruit, mango, passion fruit, banana, dried fruits, grains, some pine. Taste with the same aromas, very very smooth and perfectly balanced. Mouthfeel is medium, oily to creamy, with a medium carbonation and it finishes smooth, bitter, sour and very fruity. Fantastic DIPA! A tropical fruit bomb, that is so well balanced, as so many beers from FFF! The alcohol is very well hidden, so that this is easy to drink. Just tasty!

Tap. Aroma is nice, pineapple, pine, sweet hops, some tangerine. Taste doesnít live up to the aroma, but quite a bit grapefruit, and very nicely balanced. Mouthfeel is medium, and a lot fuller than expected, quite nice, a bit more piney, and not as fruity as Iíd like it..

Draught at Local Option, 4/18/14
Pale blonde beer with a touch of amber tints through the middle. White head atop shows strong retention.
Aroma strikes a slightly sour note, not strongly so or anything but seems to stem from either way too much toasted malt (very doubtful), too much yeast stink (possible) and/or hops being old/over-steeped (most likely). Tons of orange rind, white grapefruit and some bready malt notes along with a vanilla note that dosent belong. No alcohol, and no flaws other than the heavy-handed astringency/sourness.
Flavor is just punishingly bready...I guess the closest thing I can use to describe it would be a sourdough bread slurry with some maltiness thrown in. Dominates everything else, and while the mouthfeel/texture are perfectly fine, the beer seemingly finely attenuated and not too much on the alcohol, whatever this massive astringency is, it completely ruins it. Iím not even sure my girlfriend and I were able to finish the pint between the two of us (and I RARELY dont finish my beer, even if unpleasant).

ARH (400) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 31, 2014
22oz bomber poured into a wide flute. Notes of grapefruit rind, orange jelly (marmalade), sour green grapes, and some pine can be picked up by the nose off this one. It pours a hazy orange / light amber color with a white creamy head. A medium thick ring retains and a light, splotchy, runny lace is left behind. The taste is a mellow, medium high bitter with a subtle, dry, medium sweet and a touch of sour. The beer is medium body with a creamy texture and lots of fuzzy carbonation. A prominent, sweet marmalade note starts off the taste, followed by a sharp, bitter grapefruit rind finish with a pine and dry pinot white wine touch. The wine flavor turns a bit towards sour in the aftertaste and lingers awhile with the pine. Interesting and unique flavor combinations.
